Nowadays , women as well as men work full time. Therefore, women and men should share household tasks equally. (eg cleaning and looking after children). To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In recent years, there has been a shift away from the traditional gender roles, with men and women increasingly participating in full-time work. It is, therefore, suggested that household chores should be equally distributed between husbands and wives. While this change towards shared responsibility can bring about several issues, I believe a fair distribution of household tasks can contribute to a more balanced and harmonious partnership.

The suggestion that men and women should divide household tasks equally may challenge societal expectations and gender roles. Despite the strides made in terms of bringing gender equality into different facets of our lives, deeply embedded social norms can still influence individuals’ attitude and behavior. These norms can create resistance or conflict when attempting to establish an equal distribution of household chores.

On a more individual level, partners have different approaches and standards when it comes to completing household tasks. One partner may feel that their efforts are undervalued or that the other partner’s work is not up to their expectations. For example, when doing laundry, one partner may focus on getting the laundry done quickly and efficiently, following a basic routine of sorting, washing, and drying, while the other partner takes a more meticulous approach, paying attention to the type of fabric and washing powder and temperature. Overtime, this can lead to disagreements and tension in the relationship.

In my opinion, however, sharing household activities equally brings balance into the relationship. Firstly, when household chores are evenly distributed, both partners share the responsibilities and workload in maintaining the home. This promotes mutual respect and a sense of fairness and equity within the relationship, preventing one partner from being overburdened and overwhelmed.

Apart from this, partners can enjoy the increased quality of life. Once they divide tasks equitably, both of them have more time and energy available for other activities such as hobbies and quality time together. This allows a better work-life balance and more opportunities to engage in shared experiences, strengthening the bond and intimacy within the partnership.

In conclusion, the equal distribution of tasks in the house is a new phenomenon and therefore, challenges societal and gender norms and there is also the problem of partners having to meet each other’s expectations within the relationship. However, this shift helps partners achieve balance and harmony in the relationship as it promotes fairness and it also increases the quality of life.

To start, people may become less motivated to work towards goals that require sustained effort and patience. For instance, building a career requires years of dedication and hard work. Those who lack these qualities because they are used to what they want immediately may find it challenging to devote time and effort to patiently develop a career.

Additionally, personal relationships may also suffer. This has created a concern among the public, who express that this has harmful effects on people and society as a whole. While I understand the concern, I believe it might be an overreaction.

One of the proclaimed negative effects of the media coverage of bad news is that it can create an unnecessary fear among the public. As media can have a significant impact on people’s perceptions and emotions, the constant exposure to negative news can distort the reality for many people. The recent COVID-19 pandemic showed us how vulnerable people are to negative news, even it comes from an unreliable source, as it can create panic among the population.

However, in my opinion, these perceived dangers of media focusing more on negative news are an exaggeration. Firstly, this has been going on for so long that people have come to realize focusing too much on bad news is nothing more than a media stunt. As media outlets are well aware of the intrinsic interest of people in negativity, they tend to sensationalize bad news for attention.

In addition, with the widespread adaptation of smartphones and the internet, people now have a greater control over what news they consume. Some mobile apps and websites allow users to subscribe to specific topics of interest and follow more credible sources. This ability of people to filter news goes to show that they are not as adversely affected by the reports of negative news as some people make it out to be.

In conclusion, the concern regarding the effects of bad news on the media mainly stems from the argument that it can lead to reality distortion. However, this seems to me an overstatement as people now possess awareness of tactics used by the mainstream media and they also have more control over their news consumption.

An aircraft releases more contaminants to the air than a car ever could. Therefore, there is a proposal that prohibiting recreational air travel can produce more positive outcomes than limiting car usage. While this argument seems valid, the implementation of this initiative can bring about several practical problems. In my opinion, the government should explore other more viable ways.

Air travel one of the major drivers of air pollution. Despite the technological advancements, almost all airplanes still rely on fossil fuels, emitting a range of pollutants, particularly carbon dioxide. The increased levels of this chemical have long been associated with a host of other problems, ranging from health issues to climate change. If air travel is reduced or banned altogether, people can enjoy an improved air quality.

However, as promising as this proposal may sound, the question of whether it is possible to put such an initiative into practice should be addressed. Firstly, traveling, whether for tourism or other purposes, is a basic human right. Simply taking it away from people for the sake of improving the environment may raise some concerns among people. The public may feel that the effects of environmental degradation are already irreversible or that the contribution of air travel is minimal, as it is not the only and probably not the main culprit.

In addition, trying to improve the environment through this approach may lead to a trade-off in the tourism industry. Tourism is one of the biggest industries, employing millions of people. When the government imposes a ban on air travel, this can lead to a decline in tourism in some countries. This downturn of tourism may deprive people from those countries of a basic income stream, which raises moral questions over whether banning air travel for tourism is the correct step.

In conclusion, air travel no doubt contributes to air pollution. However, I believe anyone should have the right to use the transportation of their choice and imposing restrictions on non-essential flights can have detrimental effects on the tourism industry.
