◀️ گرامر - ایجاد ساختارهای تضاد

در Writing و Speaking مدام نیاز به ساخت تضادها دارید. بنابراین دانستن انواع متنوعی از این ساختارها بسیار اهمیت دارد. برای ساخت تضادها از ساختارهای زیر می توان استفاده کرد.

• Whereas immigration has increased, the population has fallen.
• Immigration has increased whereas the population has fallen.

• Although immigration has increased, the population has fallen.
• Immigration has increased although the population has fallen.

• While immigration has increased, the population has fallen.
• Immigration has increased while the population has fallen.

• Despite the fact that immigration has increased, the population has fallen.
• In spite of the fact that immigration has increased, the population has fallen.

• Despite the increase in immigration, the population has fallen.
• In spite of the increase in immigration, the population has fallen.

💢 همانطوریکه می بینید چون دو طرف با هم تضاد دارند، فرقی نمی کند این کلمات تضادساز، سر کدام جمله بیاید. البته وقتی این کلمات را وسط جمله می آورید، معمولا لازم نیست از کاما استفاده شود.

💢 همچنین دقت داشته باشید که
Despite = In spite of
است و برای Despite از of استفاده نکنید.

💢 آخرین نکته نیز آن است که بعد از Despite و In spite of نمی توانید جمله کامل بیاورید و باید یک عبارت اسمی استفاده شود. این عبارات در فارسی به معنای "علیرغم..." هستند.
اگر می خواهید بعد از آنها جمله بیاورید، باید یک the fact that به آنها اضافه کنید تا معنای "علیرغم اینکه" بدهد.

💢 توجه داشته باشید که این ساختارها، برای ایجاد تضادها در داخل یک جمله استفاده می شوند (Subordinate). برای ایجاد تضاد بین دو جمله نیاز به لینکرهای تضادسازی مثل However / Nevertheless / In contrast / On the other hand استفاده کنید.

• Immigration has increased. However, the population has fallen.
• Immigration has increased. Nevertheless, the population has fallen.
• Immigration has increased. In contrast, the population has fallen.
