Our friend A took the IELTS test in Odessa (Ukraine), and remembered the following information:
Listening test
Section 1. A woman was calling a real estate agent to get information about properties in New Zealand.
Questions: short-answer questions (no more than 1 word or a number).
Section 2. The president of a chess club was briefing parents about the club.
Questions: multiple choice, match names to tournaments.
Section 3. Two new maths teachers were talking about their school practice and a project.
Questions: multiple choice.
Section 4. College plan for the Textile designer profession.
Questions: short-answer questions (no more than 3 words).
Reading test
Passage 1. A plumbing and heating services booklet.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.
Passage 2. A hotel information booklet.
Questions: short-answer questions (no more than 1 word).
Passage 3. About the policy of cooperation between work force agencies and their clients.
Questions: short-answer questions (no more than 3 words).
Passage 4. About creating and managing job clubs to help people get ready for job interviews.
Questions: short-answer questions (no more than 1 word).
Passage 5. The history of tea, its cultivation and spreading across the world, including types of tea and how they grow. Also about the invention of tea bag and impact of tea on our health (results of some research).
Questions: True/False/Not Given, match headings to paragraphs and people to their deeds.
Writing test
Writing task 1 (a letter)
Your friend wants to send her/his children to your house for the weekend. Write a letter to him/her and say
– Agree to this arrangement.
– Say what time is suitable for you.
– Describe what you are planning to do.
Writing Task 2 (an essay)
Nowadays it is possible to use computers and mobile phones for automatic language translation, and there is no need for human translators and interpreters. Do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Section 1. A phone conversation between a medical centre receptionist and a patient.
Questions: filling in blanks.
Section 2. A conversation between teachers about their students’ project on animal life.
Questions: multiple choice.
Section 3. Don’t remember.
Section 4. A speaker was talking about art in Australia.
Questions: filling in blanks.
Reading test
Passage 1. A group of school students going on a tour in an “open air” bus, its schedule and fees.
Questions: True/False/Not Given.
Passage 2. About physical exercises, working out and its benefits for the employer and employees.
Questions: filling in blanks.
Passage 3. About the origin of chocolate and cocoa beans, including the history of chocolate-making and the companies today.
Questions: match information to paragraphs.
Writing test
Writing task 1 (a letter)
Write a letter to the hotel manager to make arrangements for hosting a party for one of your friends. In your letter
– tell the manager about the reason for the party
– explain what requirements you have
– ask about the availability of facilities and the menu

Some international companies are very powerful now and many people believe that it is a negative development. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give your reasons and relevant examples.
