While it is popular trend among some university students to study other subjects beside their main field of study, others think that students must be fully concentrated on their primary major to reach a perfection. In my opinion everyone who have a sense of curiosity should be encouraged to get some information about other academic fields.

Students spending a lot of time of their youth in university, they should take advantage of this time and learn as much as possible. Firstly, being familiar to other disciplines, can be lead to a better understanding of some concepts in their main subject. For example, an engineering student who is studying logic or history, can possess a more comprehensive knowledge about algorithms or history behind machines. Secondly, many jobs right now require more than one skill or education degree, it is essential to improve the CV by learning multiple skills. Finally, being in touch with other major's students and teachers will prevent your mind to be isolated in a merely one way of thinking. Math students for instance, will try to solve every problem like formulas and numbers, while dealing with people is different from the numbers.

On the other hand, some people emphasize on focusing on just one major and spend all the time and energy to be perfect on that field rather than being typical in various disciplines. This perfectionists believe that doing a perfect job in finishing in any scientific area will gurantee a bright future. Thus, spending any time in learning other subjects is unnecessary and some how a waste of time. You will never get a high-level knowledge about anything by studying it in prat time in compare to the student who spent his or her full time on that very subject. Spending this time will not only be useless but also will prevent you to make progress in your own work of study.

In conclusion, both sides have concerns about the future of students. Personally, I rather to pursue a number of goals in my life by satisfying my sense of curuiosity.

It is said that, the most noticeable target of science is enhancing the quality of people’s lives. I completely agree with this, as it has made our lives healthier, more comfortable and enjoyable, however it might have some drawbacks.

Science has significant role in improving people’s lives in various ways. First of all, science influence our lives, especially in healthcare. There are people who suffer from specific diseases and are waiting for their remedy or drugs to be discovered by scientists. In this case, new explorations and creations in remedy’s field can rescue a large numbers of people in the world. Secondly, the educationalists innovate new technology devices on a regular basis which make people’s lives easier. For example, individuals are able to utilize the-state-of-the-art equipments and technological devices which have provided with the aim of people’s convenience such as smartphones.


On the other hand, some authorities and scientists abuse of science for their profits. In this cases, they do not care about others or what drawbacks they might have for them. As an example, I could point to military and war equipments. Although they might be needed to guarantee the security of a country, it might become a tool to treat other countries as well. Otherwise, some of these innovations and explorations can damage other creatures unintentionally. For instance, X-rays which are created through atoms’ explorations and use for different purposes, can have negative impacts on humans, animals, plants and hurt them.


In conclusion, although some people might use science as a tool to access their negative requirements, I think improving people’s lives is a priority and a principle way to progress people’s lives.
