IDEAS Publishes Policy Brief Looking into the Programmes for Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
IDEAS publishes a policy brief entitled, ‘Falling Through the Cracks: Identifying Children with Learning Difficulties in Malaysian Schools’, identified shortcomings in the several remedial and learning support programmes currently in place for students with special educational needs (SEN), including issues of limited curriculums, lack of consistency in implementation, as well as lack of clear criteria and timeline for hospital referrals.

IDEAS argues that the government should be using new national poverty line income (PLI) for aid distribution.
We note that the PLI had been revised from RM980 to RM2,208 in July 2020, and that using the outdated PLI was problematic for several reasons.
