If these children were in a Ghibli film,
they’d be flying with balloons across magical skies,
making friends in enchanted cities.

But these children live in Gaza.
And this is no fairytale land.

Here, children don’t grow up playing games —
they grow up removing rubble,
carrying the lifeless bodies of their loved ones.
Some don’t even get the chance to grow up at all.

We’re able to share these Ghibli-style drawings because the algorithm thinks it’s “art.”
But when we share the real images, we’re silenced —
flagged for “violating community guidelines.”

Because truth says too much.
Because the cries of the oppressed make people uncomfortable.
Because showing oppression is forbidden —
but inflicting it is not.

These illustrations are a way to bypass censorship.
But let’s never forget the real pain.
Because this isn’t animation.
This is genocide.
