Testnet Update

ICON Foundation plans to release a new update for TestNet on July 20th including P-Rep Private Key Dualizing function, Staking and delegating function in SCORE, Multiple Unstaking Requests, Extension of the number of delegation slots related features.

ICON Foundation strongly recommends P-Reps to test new features on the Pagoda Testnet prior to the Mainnet update. In particular, P-Rep Private Key Dualizing funtion must be tested in advance to avoid future confusion.

ICON Foundation is going to release a new update for TestNet at 03:00 UTC on July 20. Again, ICON Foundation strongly recommends P-Reps to test new features on the Pagoda Testnet prior to the Mainnet update.

Testnet Update

We just released a new docker image for Testnet. Please check the following steps to update your Testnet docker:

1.) Change your docker image tag to the test version in the docker.compose.yml file

2.) Pull the latest image

docker-compose pull

3.) Restart your docker

docker-compose down && docker-compose up -d

After some number of P-Reps have updated, we’ll proceed with the Revision Update of the Pagoda Testnet. Newly updated features are activated after the Revision Update is complete.

Mainnet Update

ICON Foundation will release a new docker image for the Mainnet from UTC 02:00 on 3rd Aug 2020. Please standby to update your docker at the time.

Updated Features on the Testnet

ICON Foundation updated the Pagoda, Euljiro, and Yeouido Testnet to provide a testing environment for P-Reps and SCORE developers. Please check out below and try testing these features to avoid future confusion.

2.) Private Key Dualization

- Set nodeAddress using preptools first and replace owner keystore/pw with nodeAddress keystore/pw in docker-compose and then restart your docker.

- Preptools has been updated to support this new feature. Now all P-Reps are able to register a new “nodeAddress” on your P-Rep node so that you can split your node key to owner’s address and node address. So owner’s address is used to get the block reward and governance, and node address is used for block production and validation. Please check out the GitHub (https://github.com/icon-project/preptools/blob/master/README.md#setprep) and add a new “nodeAddress” using “setPRep” method via preptools. (If you are not registered as a P-Rep yet, please use the “registerPRep”)

- P-Rep no longer needs to keep their owner keystore file into their docker-compose. Please put the “nodeAddress” keystore file in your docker-compose and restart your docker.

3.) Multiple Unstaking Requests

- Test the Multiple Unstaking Requests feature via T-Bears. Check out this doc (https://github.com/icon-project/t-bears#tbears-sendtx) and try staking and unstaking several times using “setStake” method. You can find an example below:

4.) Extension of the number of delegation slots

- Test the “setDelegation” function via T-Bears. Check out this doc (https://github.com/icon-project/t-bears#tbears-sendtx) and try the delegation method. System will allow you to vote up to 100 P-Reps. You can find an example below:

ICON Foundation released a new hotfix to solve the Multiple Unstaking Period vulnerability. Please follow below steps and update your node. Please try to update your node right after your leader turn if you're Main P-Rep.

The latest icon-service version is 1.7.5.

If you have hardcoded the tag number, change it to the plain tag below:
