Sample response:
Since the dawn of time, many problems exist between countries and the solutions can be made either by war or by mutual understanding and agreement. Even some critical problems come to an end through international collaboration and is considered to be the preferred way. This can be proved by looking at how an international peace maintained and the help rendered by various countries to those in disaster.
Firstly, national and international peace are maintained through international cooperation and their involvement in maintaining it. For example, in Syria, many people grouped together and raised against government which made them to involve in some terrorist activities. This affects millions and millions of public which was brought to the notice globally where proper steps were taken and prevented the country from destruction. This explains the importance of international involvement in maintaining peace nationally and globally.
Secondly, providing international aids solve to those in disaster many problems, Take an instance of serious incident happened recently, missing of Malaysian airline. Malaysian people were helpless and might not find any clues if no global aid rendered to find the flight. Some of the countries joined together by providing man and material power to find the wreckage. Eventhough the solutions were not obtained till now but this helped the government to get some clues which reduced the level o severity of problem to some extent. This clearly shows the importance o international aid and global co operation.
On the whole, most of the serious global and national issues are expected to get solutions easily with international co-operation. Thus,it is agreed international collaboration is significant to maintain peace in the world.

🖍@yourIELTS
Modernization has considerably outpaced the construction of new cities, thus resulting in many troubles in people’s life. Under pressure, the government needs to identify them to reduce complaints from citizens.
🖍@yourIELTS
Commercial development gives a facility to urbanization in some cities where the basic infrastructure does not match the needs of enormous flow of dwellers. In some cases, the shortage of transportation means that the road would be blocked by vehicles especially during rush hours. This low efficient traffic can have negative implications on business to some extent. Apart from stagnated traffic, there are accommodation issues to be considered. This is because the advances of economy surely require large numbers of migrants. If single-storey constructions without necessary facilities including heating, sewage system and even electricity supply take a dominating place in city, it would be difficult for those workers to dwell comfortably.
🖍@yourIELTS
To solve the problems identified above, the most influential factor may be the government who is responsible for modifying the old cities. Perhaps viaducts are needed to accommodate more vehicles and underground traffic systems such as railways or underpass tunnels can serve to ease road traffic dramatically. Persuading estate companies to construct more functional concrete jungles would probably be an effective strategy to mitigate the terrible living or working conditions. It would also help to improve the overlook of city if some districts are demolished for central business areas, public parks or statues.
🖍@yourIELTS
Overall, the governors play a vital role in city development, and tax payers should have the awareness of maintaining their new cities.

A Task 2 sample question: Some people believe that children are given too much free time. They feel that this time should be used to do more school work. To what extent do you agree?
Forwarded from ibtil_ IELTS
A sample response with examiner's comments:
To a large extent, I believe that children are given too much free time. Free time, in my opinion, refers to time not spent under the direct supervision of a parent, teacher or a person entrusted with the responsibility of bringing up the child. Such time is often spent on several things such as watching television, playing with friends, going to parties, doing homework, playing games on their own among others.
Among all of the above, a child could either be influenced by his or her peer group especially when left without attention or be influenced by what he or she watches on TV most of which are those not meant to be viewed by the child’s age group.
In my opinion, most of the formative years of a child should be spent doing school Work, engaging in recreational activities would develop the child emotionally and mentally. I believe this strongly because at a young age, a child is quick to grasp most of what is seen or heard.
Examiner's comments: The writing has clear organisation and some good use of linking words. The range of vocabulary and sentence structures is very good with a high level of control.
However, the answer is unfinished and this means that some of the ideas would need more support. The opening sentence is copied and the whole answer is underlength.

A model response prepared by an examiner:
The issue of whether children are given too much free time , in my view, is not about the amount of free time they have, but about whether this time can be spent on socially productive activities.
Clearly, giving students an excessive amount of spare time after school may cause a series of problems. Young students are at the best stage in their lives to acquire knowledge and skills. If this precious period is occupied with idle activities, they will have to do much more to compete with their peers when they become adults.
What can be more disturbing is the possible increase in children’s misbehavior and even offences after school. Some teenagers may linger on the streets instead of staying with their parents or guardians, which makes it very likely for them to be involved in criminal acts.
Not only does schoolwork include writing essays and research papers, it may also offer a variety of social activities, such as group discussions or preparation for team presentations, which hones children’s cooperative skills. So it seems children should indeed spend more time on their schoolwork.
Despite all these considerations, I believe that students should be given enough freedom in deciding how to use their spare time for the fundamental reason that the skill of managing their time as important as reading books or doing exercises. Specifically, providing students with the right to choose what they do after class will develop their sense of responsibility and build their confidence which are the root of any success.
So I think students should be given proper guidance about how to use their free time, although this free time not necessarily has to be spent on schoolwork.
