I'm gonna tell a story about thinking out of the box, when the box is defined by "airplane"
When I was in high school our physics teacher gave us a challenge that involved making a paper air plane of any shape. The only objective was to get it to fly as far as possible. I had some paper air plane making skills so I made the best plane I could and it flew pretty far. The prize seemed to get under my belt.
One guy made the greatest, yet simplest paper airplane of all time. He stood there at the starting line with a regular piece of paper. Some classmates scratched their head while silently chuckling to themselves. Moments later he took the flat piece of paper, crumpled it up, and threw it down the hall way.
He beat the class with ease.
Some of the students got mad and said that he cheated.
The physics teacher said, "How so? I said it could be any shape. A paper ball is indeed a shape."
He won the contest with flying colors.
A saying goes like"Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see."
I still regard this classmate as a genius.

OK, well the first place that came to mind when I saw this topic was the Tehran Metro, because I remember it being unbelievably crowded, so that's what I'm gonna talk to you about.
And as for when I went there, well it was actually pretty recently, I suppose probably only about two or three weeks ago, so it's still pretty fresh in my memory. well basically, I was on my way to see a friend who lives in Tehran, and she had told me that by far the best way to get around the city was using the subway, simply because the roads were so congested. So I took her advice, but it was a huge shock when I actually got into the subway station and saw just how many people there were. I mean, I knew that there would be a lot of people, but I never expected to see that many!
Although looking back on it now, I suppose what made it worse was the fact that I was travelling during rush hour, so it was a lot more crowded than I'm sure it would have been during off-peak times. And when I saw how packed the train was when it was pulling into the station, I remember thinking there was no way I was going to be able to get on. But I was in a bit of a hurry, coz I was actually already running late, so I had no choice really but to join the huge queue of people waiting. Anyway, I did somehow manage to make it onto the train, but I was pressed up against people on all sides, so it was pretty uncomfortable to say the least! I mean, it was absolutely heaving, and I literally couldn't move at all!
Thankfully though, I didn't have too far to travel, coz if I remember correctly, I was only on the train for about 4 stops. And when I finally got off, I remember feeling incredibly relieved, and also very grateful that I didn't have to go through the same experience every day.
So yeah, I guess that's pretty much all there is to say!

OK, so I'd like to talk about a person that I know has done a lot of work to help people, And...this is my grandmother on my father's side. She lived near my childhood home and I used to go to her house every, uh, almost every other weekend, umm, because we had a big family and so we'd have lots of events up at my grandparent's house. And, you know, what...what my grandmother did to help people, well, I think there are lots of things...
But one of the main things is that she used to volunteer at a hospital, umm, really often. You know, I was young so I don't know exactly how often she would volunteer but it was definitely a common thing. And I remember my parents talking about this when I was younger and stuff like that. But I really felt it when I was back visiting home one time and I had to visit the hospital for something. And while was waiting a lady come out and talked to me and she said she had known my grandmother and worked with her when she was at the hospital. And that she was always so impressed and really admired, umm, my grandmother and her kindness and how much she gave to the people around her. So that was quite an interesting conversation for me. And I really felt like it was meaningful and my grandmother had been doing meaningful things for the people around her. Um, you know, other than at the hospital of course she took care the people in my family so she would host birthday parties and make lots of different kinds of food and...just always giving to other people so I think she set a really good example in that sense and um, I hope that I'll be able to be a giving and helpful person, like she was, in the future.

11.22.63 is a new personal favourite. I've never been a huge fan of Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game Of Thrones or any of those huge series that seem to captivate pretty much everyone I know. BUT, 11.22.63 is different, and so far it's keeping me on the edge of my seat.
It's a very clever show, it really plays on the idea of things like the butterfly effect but not in a complicated way, in-fact the whole time travelling side of the show is very nicely explained in the first episode! The cinematography, directing, script, screenplay and the acting are all very tight. It's not particularly violent or too rude, there is use of strong language but it's split up and is used more as a means of conveying emotion than just for the sake of having bad language in a show. It draws you in straight away, no silly elongated dialogue or anything like that; within 10 minutes of episode one, the main character (who is very capably played by James Franco) is already catapulted back in time ... and the rest is history (so too speak).
It's produced by Stephen King and J.J Abrams who are masters of this kind of concept; it's eerie, suspenseful and really engrossing. There are a lot of very "Stephen King moments" which remind me of his other works.
It's a very intriguing watch and i'm really into it, and like I said i'm not usually a big fan of all these mega-popular TV series so even i'm surprised at just how much i'm enjoying it! If you're looking for a fast paced drama/thriller which is superbly produced, you have to see this.

Study
1.What are you studying at the moment?
I'm studying history at university. It's a four year course, and I started it three years ago, so I have just one year left. I'm enjoying it a lot so it will be sad to finish.

2.Why did you choose that major?
I was fascinated by being an auditor when I was in high school. At that time I was inspired by my cousin, who is an excellent auditor. To be a good auditor, I have to be good at accounting so I made a decision to study it in Tehran University.

3.Is it a popular subject at your university?
Very popular, in fact it's one of the most sought after courses. I think there are about 350 people reading law at Tehran university. I think lots of student's parents want them to study law so they can get a good job after they graduate.

4.If you could change to another subject, what would it be?
I planned to study medicine, but then when I went on work experience I fainted at the first sight of blood, so definitely not that. I'm a real history buff and read books about World War 2 all the time, so I suppose it would have to be Modern History.

5.What do you like most about your studies?
We learn about many things from the past such as politics and wars, but I like learning about how people lived in the past the most. It's amazing to see how our lives have changed so much from the past up until now. In some ways our lives have got much easier now, but in other ways the simplicity of life in the past made people much happier. Learning about all that is fascinating.

6.What do you hope to do in the future when you have finished?
I'm not sure at the moment, but I may go into teaching. This is why I'm doing the IELTS, as I intend to carry on and do a Masters in a specific area of history. I'll probably decide for sure what to do when I have completed that.

1.What is your job?
I currently work as an office manager at a large marketing company. I've been in the job for about five years now. I'm usually assigned to work with a specific business in order to improve their sales through various marketing strategies.

2.How did you get this job?
Well, I have done my Bachelors in technology in Information Technology. So, during the last year,a lot of companies came in for campus recruitment and I got selected at Infosys.

3.Do you have to work with other people?
Oh yes, all the time. It's a big office and we all have to work as a team if we want to achieve results. I have colleagues I need to liaise with such as the graphic designers and I also have administration staff who work under me. And of course I also have to work alongside the companies that we provide marketing for. So yes, I definitely have to work with other people.

4.What do you dislike about your work?
The only think that I really don't like about being a software engineer is that apart from being a great job, it is not something very close to my heart. At heart, I am a writer, traveler and a reader. And I would definitely want to do something near to it.

5.Do you think you will change jobs in the future?
Well, that's not something I'm thinking about at the moment as I really enjoy what I do and it's a really good company to work for. The pay is good and they have other good benefits such as flexi-time and end of year bonuses. But that said, change is always a good thing, so I can't see me being there forever. I'm sure I will change one day.

Ok right then, well the English lesson I'm gonna talk about is the one I had during my primary school, which I guess must have been about ten or eleven years ago by now.
It was the first time that I was given a class by a foreign teacher. At that time, our English teacher introduced an American young guy to us. Out of curiosity, most of us swarmed around him. Then, he had a free talk with us in simple but humorous English.He spoke quite slowly and clearly so that we could follow him well.Meanwhile, he would repeat just in time what students did not understand. Greatly inspired, most of the students took an active part in asking him questions and interacting with him. So the atmosphere was quite alive during the whole class. And... I have to say that through this lesson, we all improved our oral English and the courage to speak another language other than our mother tongue.
When comparing this to most of the classes we had at that time, where we basically just went through the textbook and took notes, it was a thousand times more interesting, and of course, meaningful. Actually, from this lesson, I came to the conclusion that it is not so difficult to learn English if we talk more in it. And I also learned that English can act as an interesting and useful tool in communications with foreigners if we're good at it.

Describe a happy childhood memory

I grew up very far from most of my family so I only saw them once a year. Every summer I would go to stay with them, while my parents continued working. Although I missed my parents, I used to really enjoy spending time with my grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. I spent all summer there, nearly two whole months, so from time to time my cousins and I would get bored. We would ask my grandparents if they had any ideas for interesting things we could do. Sometimes they suggested going for a bike ride, sometimes into town to do some shopping. At other times, they showed us a new game to play. Then we were happy again.
One day - it must be about 12 years ago (doesn't time fly!) - all of us got really, really bored and we kept complaining to my grandparents. They were tearing their hair out, trying to think up ideas of where we could go and what we could do. Suddenly, my granddad came up with the idea of going to a new water park that had opened that summer. I hadn't heard about it but my cousins had, and they told me all about it. It was a park with vast numbers of different pools, some inside, some outside. There were water slides as well. And, on top of that there was not one, but two playgrounds with swings, a merry-go-round, see-saws. We were so excited.
We set off and on the way we were all singing songs and laughing. We couldn't wait to get there. When we arrived, my cousins and I ran into the park and changed into our swimming costumes. Then we went looking for the most exciting-looking pool, and we found it, one with brightly coloured tiles and slides, we jumped straight in. We played all day in the park and had a lovely lunch, sat on some benches in the sunshine.
My granddad loved a pool that was filled with spa water. It was dark brown and stank of rotten eggs. I didn't want to go in but he eventually convinced me. I'm pleased he did because the water was really warm. I'd never swam in water that warm. I didn't want to get out, despite the terrible smell.
I consider it such a happy memory because we enjoyed ourselves so much and I remember so vividly how I felt that day. But there's more to it than just that. When I look back now, I understand how caring my grandparents were and how much they wanted us all to be happy. They would have done anything to help us have a good time. I appreciate that more now that I'm older and have children of my own. I hope we thanked them; I can't remember. But, anyway, they were content, I'm sure, to just watch us have an amazing time, playing and laughing in the water. So, as you can see, it was a wonderful day and is one of my favourite childhood memories.

This topic reminds me of the time we took class pictures on graduation day.
Actually, we all had mixed feelings, on the one hand, we were pretty psyched about graduating from university and getting a diploma.
on the other hand, we also felt a little bit sad ‘cause we had to say goodbye to all the classmates who have spent the last four years with each other.
However, when we took the picture, we still didn’t forget to be funny. I mean, we made faces and posed hilariously to the camera despite the photographer’s objection. He was so pissed off.
In the end, he couldn’t stand us anymore, and shouted, couldn’t you guys act like normal people and just smile to the camera?
After we were done having fun, we thought, maybe we should listen to the photographer and take a decent picture together.
So we stood still, and said cheese when he clicked the shutter.
After we got the picture, we were surprised to see that everybody looked great in the picture, I mean, we all had a sweet smile on our face, looking energetic and hopeful.
I framed the picture and put it on my bookshelf. It would bring back memories from my college years.
Every time I saw those smiling faces I would recall all the precious moments we had together during those four years, and I just couldn’t help cracking a smile.

درباره سنتر: سنتر خوب بود.. چيزي كه قبلا در مورد اين سنتر شنيده بودم منو نگران كرده بود.. اما حقيقتش همه چيز روتين بود .. برخورد مراقبين و محيط سنتر خوب بود . فاصله پارتيشن ها يكم كم بود .. صدا راحت پخش ميشد .. اما فكر ميكنم سنتر هاي ديگه هم همينطوره .. در كل صدا شايد پخش ميشد .. اما آزار دهنده نبود . اجازه ندادن كسي خودكار داشته باشه .. اما داوطلب ها خيلي پافشاري كردن .. و آخرش گويا گفتن ببرين اما با مسئوليت خودتون.

تنها چيزي كه خيلي تو سنتر منو اذيت كرد ، اين بود كه واسه چكينگ خيلي زمان صرف شد .. همه پشت در يه اتاق منتظر ميموندن .. تا نوبتشون بشه و اين خيلي طول كشيد . تقريبا ١/٥ ساعت اينجوري انرژيمو گرفت .

آزمون : ريدينگ خيلي ساده تر از چيزي بود كه فكر ميكردم .. لغتها خيلي ساده بود . و خيلي بهتر از tpo ها بود . حتي سوالاتش چلنجينگ نبود اصلا . من ريدنگم لانگ بود . يكم خسته كننده شد .
ليستنينگ اصلا راضي نبودم .. خيلي سخت تر از tpo ها .. من كه هميشه تو ليستنينگ وقت اضافه مي آوردم .. وقت كم آوردم !!!و تو هر ٢ پارت .. ٢-٣ تا آخر رو شانسي زدم . وقتي هم كه تو پارت اول ليستنينگ ديدم اصلا خوب كار نكردم .. كلا ديگه حواس و روحيمو تو پارت بعديش از دست دادم .. خيلي بايد مراقب بود كه سختي آزمون رو يه پارت .. انرژي رو ازتون نگيره. چون واقعا ميتونه كلا down كنه آدمو.

اسپيكينگ من هميشه خوب بود .. تو اين امتحان هم راضي بودم. آسون هم بود .. دقيقا تو سطح tpo. خوشبختانه بعد از بريك سعي كردم كلا ليستنينگ رو فراموش كنم و دوباره تمركز كنم به ادامه امتحان.
رايتينگ هم روتين و راحت بود .. چيز سخت تري از tpo نبود .

I received a very precious gift from my cousin on my 26th birthday. It was a laptop. My cousin has always been very generous, but this time even I was surprised by his generosity. I could have never envisaged that he would give me such an expensive gift. At first I refused to accept it as I believed it was an extravagant expenditure, but on his persistent persuasion I had to accept this expensive gift.
It is so difficult to describe the laptop in words, but I would just tell you something about. It was an i3 and it had a black color. I do not know the price of the laptop as it was a gift but it has been priceless for me. Whenever someone looks at the laptop the person asks me about the laptop and tells me how good it is. I am not an IT professional so I would not be able to explain this electronic device in the most proper way, but I still want to say that it is not only stylish but also useful.
This gift has been very beneficial for me. It has helped me both educationally and socially. I use my laptop whenever I have to do an assignment or report. I also talk or communicate with my friends by using different websites and applications. I can say that my life would have been boring and slow if I had not had this beautiful gift. That is the reason I always tell my cousin how thankful I am to him for giving me such a useful thing which has actually helped me a lot.

امروز به اين يقين رسيدم كه مشكل شاگردهام اينه كه به فارسي هم نميتونن فكر كنن و حرف بزنن. امروز موضوع اين بود كه آموزش تاريخ كشور مهمتر از آموزش تاريخ جهان به بچه ها در مدرسه است. موافقيد يا مخالف. توصيه ميكنم براي ايده متن فارسي بخوانيد. مثل متن زير.

تاریخ چیست؟
تاریخ بشر سرگذشت خانواده بسیار بزرگی است که «جامعه شهری» نامیده می شود.
ما در تاریخ با زندگی مردمی آشنا می شویم که در دوران های مختلف با عقاید و آداب و رسوم گوناگونی زندگی می کرده اند و هرکدام یادگارهایی از خوبی و بدی ، آبادانی و ویرانی باقی گذاشته اند.
تاریخ سرگذشت انسان های گذشته و شرح چگونگی زندگی، حکومت، اعتقادات و دیگر چیزهای مربوط به آن ها است.
مطالعه ی تاریخ ما را به گذشته باز می گرداند تا کارهای مردمی را که از این جهان رفته اند، ببینیم و سخن کسانی را که امروز خاموش اند، بشنویم و از آن ها درس عبرت بیاموزیم.
هم چنین با مطالعه تاریخ می توانیم علت های پیشرفت و سعادت مردان و زنان بزرگ نظیر دانشمندان و هنرمندان را دریابیم. با مطالعه ی زندگی مردمان گذشته در می یابیم که هیچ گاه مردمی شکست نمی خورند و مگر زمانی که تفرقه ، فساد و گناه در میانشان رواج یابد. هیچ طالعی بر مردم مسلط نمی شود مگر آن که مردم از تشویق یکدیگر به خوبی و منع یکدیگر از بدی دست بردارند و در می یابیم که هیچ فرد و جامعه ای به سعادت و رستگاری نمی رسد و مگر با کار و کوشش، ایمان به خدا، ایثار و گذشت.


درمطالعه تاریخ چه چیزی بیشتر اهمیت دارد؟
1-یافتن علت های اساسی حوادث بزرگ
2-پیدا کردن پاسخ های قانع کننده برای پرسش های گوناگون
3-تفکر و یافتن پاسخ برای سؤال هایی چون : چرا جنگ های کوچک و بزرگ اتفاق افتاده است؟ علم و دانش امروز چگونه حاصل شده است؟ آداب و رسوم هر جامعه چگونه شکل گرفه است؟
پاسخ چنین پرسش هایی را می توانیم با مطالعه تاریخ و تفکر در آن بیابیم. بنابراین مطالعه ی تاریخ، فقط به معنای حفظ نام افراد و شرح حوادث نیست.

فواید مطالعه ی تاریخ
«به فرض که پذیرفتیم تاریخ نگاری، حرفه ای ویژه است ؛ اصلا تاریخ به چه کار می آید؟ اگر تاریخ نخوانیم چه اتفافی می افتد؟ ناریخ مربوط به گذشته است و گذشته در دسترس نیست.» این ها حرف هایی است که ممکن است شما بشنوید یا شاید هم حرف دل خود شما باشد اما بیایید کمی بیش تر فکر کنیم ؛ می دانیم که به وسیله ی یک آچار می توان پیچی را باز یا بسته کرد، با یک اسکناس می توان چیزی خرید و یا یک وسیله ی نقلیه می توان به مکان و مقصدی سفر کرد. اگر با این دید به تاریخ نگاه کنیم، خواهیم گفت که تاریخ به هیچ کاری نمی آید! اما با این حال، زندگی امروز و فردای ما با تاریخ عجین است. حتی اگر مخالف آن باشیم، بدان نیازمندیم. سیاست مدران برای موفقیت در کار خویش ناچارند هم تاریخ سرزمین خود و هم تاریخ کشورهای دیگر را بدانند ؛ فیلم سازان برای تهیه فیلم های تاریخی، از مطالعه تاریخ ناگزیرند؛ ادیبان برای فهم و شناخت اشعار و نوشته های زمان های قبل، از مطالعه ی تاریخ آن عصر کمک می گیرند ؛ هنرمندان با مطالعه آثار هنری قبل از خود و اوضاع و احوال مربوط به آن آثار و نیز بررسی سرگذشت ابداع کنندگان آن ها، نگرشی عمیق تر می یابند و در کار خود موفق تر می شوند، حتی ورزش کاران نیز پس از چند احساس می کنند که باید از ماجراهای ورزشی مربوط به دوران قبل از خود یعنی تاریخ ورزش آگاهی یابند. هرکس در هر شغل و حرفه ای که هست، به داشتن آگاهی های تاریخی درباره حرفه ی خود نیازمند است اما تاریخ فایده هایی مهم تر از این ها هم دارد. فایده هایی که مربوط به یک حرفه یا مخصوص پیر و جوان و دختر و پسر نیست بلکه فایده های عام تری است که مربوط به همه ی انسان ها و همه زمان هاست.
مهم ترین فایده های مطالعه ی تاریخ
گسترش افق دید انسان، حفظ میراث فرهنگی، تربیت و هدایت انسان ها، اقناع حس کنجکاوی انسان، قدرشناسی نسب به تلاش گذشگان، خودشناسی، علاقه به مهین و حفظ آن، شناخت فرهنگ و تمدن خویش، آشنایی با دانشمندان و بزرگان، تفاهم و هم گرایی جهانی، شناخت بیشتر انسان، پیش بینی آینده، آشنایی با سایر ملت ها و تمدن ها.
