As salamu alaykum Wa rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

We come to you with a heavy heart of sadness that Anwar Abu Usaid’s father (one of the admins of Ibn AbdilBarr) has passed away.

Surely, we belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return.

We ask Allah to have mercy on him. Amin.
The ummah lost a giant. May Allah have mercy upon him; al-Musnid Sayyid Abd Al-Rahmān b. Al-sayyid Abdul Hayy Al-Kettānī.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of the great scholar and holder of some of the highest chains of narration in the world, the honourable shaykh Abdurahman bin Abdul Hayy Al Kettani.

May Allah accept him and continue to increase his rank through his beneficial knowledge and the dua of his pious family.

The Musnid scholar of our time, Shaykh Abd al-Rahman al-Kattani has passed away. He was the son of the erudite and courageous scholar of the Maghreb, Hafiz Abd al-Hayy al-Kattani. The Kattani family have been known for their unwavering valour in defending Islam. Interestingly, Shaykh Abd al-Rahman had met the great Indian scholar Imam Ahmad Rida Khan and took licences from him in Hadith and other sciences. He had the shortest chain to Imam Ahmad Rida as he had directly met him. AlFatiha - Asrar Rashid
We have lost another giant. Shaykh Abdur Rahman ibn Abdul Hayy Al-Kettani has passed away today in Morocco. This shaykh and his father were big scholars had possessed the shortest chains in narrations of the Prophet (ﷺ) in the world. Scholars east to the west, all around the world have traveled to Morocco to receive Ijazat or chains of transmission from Shaykh Abdur Rahman. He was 106 years old.

The top picture is of Shaykh Abdur Rahman Al-Kettani and his father Shaykh Abdul Hayy Al-Kettani.

May Allah have mercy on him, his father and all the Muslims. Amin.

Shaykh Dr Hassan al Kettani pays tribute to his relative, the great musnid (hadith chains of transmission holder) shaykh Abdul Rahman al Kettani (may Allah forgive him). He gives some insights into his family, his education, his teachers, his travels and his character.
As many feel great support towards Morocco due to the recent events, we take it as an opportunity to celebrate the many heroes and scholars who emerged from that land.

Among them was Amir AbdelKarim Al Khattabi, a learned man who bravely fought French and Spanish colonisation.

Take a few minutes to learn about his extraordinary life
