Live Webinar: Enhancing the Predictability of Preclinical Development

DATE: May 26, 2021
TIME: 8AM PST, 11 AM EST, 4 PM BST, 5PM CEST

Preclinical studies enable evaluation of drug candidates for both efficacy and safety within biological model systems. Physiological relevance of the models used can closely mimic the biochemical pathways, metabolism, and physiology of humans. Hence, primary cells, 3D cell culture / tissues, and cell-based assays comprise relevant model systems.

How to evaluate models to establish robust and reliable preclinical investigation of drug candidates prior to entering clinical trials
How to gain an understanding of the advancements in preclinical model systems and assays
What to consider from the latest innovations and impact on bioanalytical assays.

DATE: 26 May 2021
TIME: 10:00 AM ET | 4 PM CET

Drug development faces a significant challenge in that only 1 in 10 candidates make it to the market, often due to safety/toxicity issues rather than efficacy. Adoption of early assessments to de-risk drug candidates by identifying and de-prioritizing those with potential safety issues is of paramount importance.
Join this live
webinar where Dr. Peterson will discuss how in vivo fluorescence probes and strategies can be used in early drug screening.

Overview of the range of animal models and therapeutic areas supported by fluorescent imaging and imaging probes
Liver safety/toxicology imaging of the effects of chemical agents
Characterization of kidney safety/toxicology of Cyclosporin A and Rapamycin

Watch on demand: Characterising cancer cell states using spatial transcriptomics

Intratumor heterogeneity is a recognized cause of cancer treatment failure. While much of tumor heterogeneity is genetic in nature, recent work using single-cell RNA-Seq has detected a hitherto underappreciated level of transcriptional heterogeneity, leading to the notion of cancer cell states. Studies in melanoma, glioblastoma, and head and neck cancer among others have identified sets of cancer cell states, many of which relate to processes specific to the cell of origin.

Join this virtual seminar to:
Learn about how single-cell RNA-Seq and Spatial Transcriptomics can be integrated
Understand how cell states can be defined using gene modules
Explore how cancer cell states may be related to the tumor microenvironment
Consider the conservation of cancer cell states across diverse cancer types
