The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has invited applications from eligible candidates for the sports awards, Arjuna, Dronacharya, Khel Ratna and Lifetime achievement, in a circular issued. Usually, the government sports awards are presented by the President on National Sports Day, August 29.
India observes National Nutrition Week every year from September 1 to September 7 to raise public awareness about nutrition and healthy eating habits. The week is honoured to make people understand the importance of nutritional and adaptive eating habits to maintain a healthy lifestyle – a healthy mind resides in a healthy body.

The Indian Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said that the students will be allowed to take the board examination twice during the school year to eliminate the higher risk aspect of final examinations. He further added that the new measure will promote holistic development among the students rather than rote learning and learning from coaching classes. However, various educationists raised concern that the board exams will lose importance as students might get complacent and slacken their preparation and pace.
