India tightens the rules on high-caffeine beverages as FSSAI directs manufacturers to stop using the term “energy drink” or similar descriptors.

Major brands including Pepsi, Red Bull, Monster and Reliance are expected to comply with the labelling change within 90 days. The move comes amid concerns over misleading claims and the growing consumption of high-caffeine beverages. The decision could reshape India’s fast-growing energy beverage market.
