Japan has banned #Indian mango shipments again, and this time, the issue is not taste, but trust! Japanese authorities reportedly found lapses at Indian treatment facilities responsible for making sure exported mangoes are pest-free. The concern? Fruit flies…
#Nepal has imposed a #ban on Indian mangoes after border quarantine inspectors detected excessive levels of chemical pesticides in imported shipments. The import restrictions by Kathmandu’s Ministry of Agriculture and #Livestock Development have been in place since April-May.

Nepali authorities are framing the move as beneficial for domestic fruit varieties. Manish Kumar Pal, spokesperson for the Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Madhes Province, told The Rising #Nepal that the restriction has created greater opportunities for locally produced, “healthier fruit”.

However, mango traders in the country are worried about potential shortages, price hikes, and major losses.

⚖️ A landmark judgment by the Supreme Court of India.

The Supreme Court has ruled that a consensual relationship between two unmarried adults cannot be used to judge a person's character or professional suitability.

The verdict came while hearing the case of a police recruit whose selection was cancelled due to a past relationship. The Court emphasized that institutions must keep pace with changing social realities and move beyond outdated moral assumptions.

The judgment reinforces key constitutional values:
Personal autonomy
Individual dignity
Right to privacy
Consent and equality

The Court also clarified that a failed relationship is not evidence of deception or misconduct, and professional decisions must be based on proven facts—not moral judgments about private lives.
📌 A significant step in the evolving relationship between law, society, and individual freedoms in India.

The next breakthrough in weight-loss medicine may not be a stronger drug.

It may simply be a drug people are more likely to keep taking.

Pfizer's experimental obesity treatment, berobenatide, could reduce injections from 52 a year to just 12 while continuing to deliver meaningful weight loss.

For doctors, the most important number isn't 12.3%.

It's whether patients stay on treatment.

Swipe to understand why.

Watching the #WorldCup?

So are we.

Millions of football fans attending the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA risk coming face to face with troubling attacks on human rights, not least those stemming from abusive and deadly US immigration policies. Severe restrictions on freedom of expression and peaceful protest threaten the “safe, welcoming and inclusive” tournament promised by #FIFA.

Football cannot ‘unite the world’ while mass deportations continue to devastate families and spread fear and division, or while people are prevented from expressing themselves freely.
