A sudden fire broke out in the house of a professor at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) campus, in which goods worth lakhs were reduced to ashes. No one was at home at the time of the accident. According to the information of Prof. PC Tiwari was living in a house located in the institute premises. He had gone to Delhi for some work while his sister had gone to the temple for worship from home. People around informed them that smoke was coming out of the house.
When he immediately informed the fire station, two vehicles reached the spot, but by then all the things kept in the house were burnt to ashes. The fire had spread so much that even the walls were damaged. Fire personnel worked hard to control the fire. At the same time, due to this accident, there was a stir among other workers living nearby. Although it is not clear how the fire started, but short circuit is believed to be the cause of the fire.
