Meet our CEO, Getnet Assefa!
After the completion of his engineering degree, Getnet went to SingularityNET University to attend a graduate program in 2013. While at the University, Getnet researched the Silicon Valley Tech Ecosystem; in which after its conclusion, Getnet was eager to establish his own company. In 2013, Getnet with the partnership of Ben Goertzel CEO of SingularityNET formed iCog Labs. It has now been 6 years since the establishment and the company has become one of the prominent tech companies in the country; if not the continent. Besides envisioning and working on the presence of AGI, iCog also has a few community projects working with the youth. Currently, Getnet and his team are working on strengthening their relationships with international tech organizations. Moreover, Getnet has recently been listed under Quartz African Innovators 2019.

Ada Lovelace is the first computer programmer who at 17 years old translated an article written about the so-called analytical machine – an early mechanical computer designed by her friend and mentor, the mathematician Charles Babbage. Along with translating the article from French to English, she added copious notes and annotations of her own about the machine and how it would work. Today, these notes are thought of as the first ever algorithm, making Ada the world’s first ever computer programmer. #iCogAnyoneCanCode #WomeninTech

Robosapien Myth by iMakers

Feven and Kebede, are mythically thought to have been the first robo-sapiens to have existed. Some might even call them the Adam and Eve of RoboSoccer. They acquired their mind-blowing football skills from the Gods of RoboSoccer. In the spirit of keeping close ties with humans and working for a greater purpose with humans the Gods assigned them with the great tasks of continuing the RoboSoccer legacy. And so they passed to their children, Abebe and Betty who passed it down to the generations of RoboSoccer players that preceded them. The iMakers family thanks the Gods of RoboSoccer for creating a way for robots and humans, alike come together to exchange skills and memories.

Did you know that the Python language did not get its name from a dangerous reptile? Python designer, Guido van Rossum, was a fan of the 70s comedy series "Monty Python's Flying Circus" and he needed a short name for his new design.
