The Myth of the Noble Savage

In America one of the most perpetuated lies is that of "The Noble Savage" a title the Injuns received due to Nobility being able to hunt in Europe though once all Freemen would have had the right.

This myth was perpetuated over the years and became more and more pronounced in books, film and art. We made the Injuns into something they weren't we made them a sort of untouched arcadian race, an idealized us without the blemish of sin or depravity.
In many ways we placed our own ancestral ways onto them, we made them noble warriors even if by our standards they weren't, we crafted a false spirituality for them, false music, placing and mixing in elements of our own culture. We gave them sacred animals from our own ancestry, even when we shared these animals in common we thought they thought of them such as we did, when this was anything but the case. I say this not to insult them or us, merely to remind people. The Noble Savage is not who the Injun's are, it is who we once were.

Seo Linn; Óró Sé do Bheatha Bhaile
A traditional Irish folk song rewritten by Patrick Pearse in 1912, updated by Seo Linn in 2016. As with all Folk music no one can truly own it (it belongs to the people from which it sprang) but they can and should bring these songs from the past into the present.

This song is a call to war sang by a passionate young man and is quite simply the BEST version of this particular song we have heard recorded. While he is young and lacking the authority of a more mature voice his passion is clear. We are sure if you close your eyes and let your mind wander to the past you can hear a thousand or a thousand thousand Irish warriors growling this song as they march across the Irish countryside calling to their kinsmen to aid them in reclaiming the land stolen from them by their own nobles to sell to foreigners the same as they do to this day.

Pay attention, it is your birthright they steal and plunder from you.

The Choral Scholars of University College Dublin; Mo Ghille Mear (My Gallant Hero)

A folksong of Ireland with a very convoluted past. The history of this song breaks down to being based on two poems and a song based on a song based on a song which itself is based on a song so old no one really knows. In other words it is a folk song as folk songs should be with many iterations and reimagining's bringing it along with the people to the present.

Additionally there are many versions of this Folk Song performed to this day so there is not an "official" set of lyrics. Despite that; which ever version is your favorite, they all seem to share a common thread. The song in short is a longing call to a hero lost to the people asking him to return and in doing so save the land from which they hail, whether he be a Son, a King, a Pirate, or a God.

Tribal Tattooing

Tattooing was a common practice among our ancestors. These tattoos were not mere pictures, each one however simple had a deeper meaning. These symbols hold no secret meaning they were there for all to see. They were marks of valor, accomplishment, personal sacrifice and yes even shame.
Our markings are incredibly varied in style, subject and meaning. Yet all of them, every last one of them for the longest time were earned. Even until recent memory many tattoos still held specific military or cultural significance being earned through deed.

However, in the modern day it has become incredibly common for people to tattoo themselves with various imagery or symbols, relegating our markings to mere symbols of wealth.
While there is no real issue with Bob as a fan of History's Vikings getting a Ragnar tattoo as it is merely culture or fandom, for actual pagans there are much higher standards.

How many of us have covered our bodies in meaningless or worse tattoos of shame that we haven't earned without ever understanding their meaning? How many of us have truly earned the tattoos of a Chieftain buried with honors? For many people bearing these historic tattoos it would be equivalent to Stolen Valor akin to the theft of a Medal of Honor from a soldiers grave.

For Example: The Celtic Cross often a symbol tattooed by Celtic descended Christians and Pagans alike, but it has a much deeper meaning as a Celtic Warrior tattoo. When tattooed over the heart it meant one had passed the warrior trials. Which included spontaneous battles of many men, a year in the wilderness, among others and even enduring the Tree of Pain an excruciating trial that could drive even the most stoic of men to insanity, this is what one tattoos on their body.

The Celtic Swirls of Fire, the Stag of a buried Scythian, etc. If we truly believe in our old ways and wish to return to them then we must honor them, we must not perpetuate stolen valor or unearned scorn, what's more we must understand these symbols before we put them on our body or refrain from it. I have seen too many people with Solomonic Symbols that they have been fooled into thinking have anything to do with Hyperborean Ethnic Faith. -TLK

The Magic Weather Stone

Directions for using the Weather Stone: Now that you have gotten your new Weather Stone carefully place it outside, in direct line of sight to the main window of your home.
Note: Do not forget to look at your Weather Stone before going outside.

Yes it is a joke pointing out the fact that despite all of the technological advancements and "science" that goes into predicting the weather... ultimately is not very accurate and that really you are further off keeping it stupid simple by going outside or failing that just use the weather stone before going outside.
