Guardian Angels?

Guardian Angels are an aspect of Christian Folk Faith, the belief in a guardian spirit winged and beautiful, Grandma looking down protecting us after becoming an angel in heaven, this however is heretical.
Guardian Angels actually spring from ancestral faith even the imagery, Angels as Winged humans or beings cloaked in light is vastly different from the Lovecraftian beings of the Bible. Instead they pull from many deities such as Celtic Bird goddesses or Swan Maidens.
The changing of souls into Angels or Demons in the afterlife is also nowhere in the bible. Instead it is a reference to the many forms ancestral spirits can take; Tomte, Grimhounds, Perchten, or simply Ghosts!

So when we speak of Guardian Angels or treasure an angel doll carved or sewn by an ancestor, know this, "we are speaking of honoring our ancestors and that they are watching over us, the Church in its eternal laziness merely changed the names".-TLK

If your view of the gods is from India?
If your view of Wise Men is from Siberia?
If your view of the afterlife is from the Middle East?
If your view of spirits is from Amerindians?
If your view of ritual is Hebrew?

When I pass from this world... sing. Sing me a song... Sing me a song of love... Sing me a song of laughter and joy... Sing me a song of pain and of loss... Sing me a song of longing so that I might know I had truly lived .
Cherish the life I once lived and remember me. Remember me long into the night. Tonight you might mourn but tomorrow you will laugh.

Remember me and sing.

Tintagel Castle. This castle has been Longley associated with King Arthur. It is said that Arthur was conceived in the castle.
Ostara Goddess of the Moon

Ostara
is venerated primarily among the Saxons her veneration spreading into England and the Alps her sacred sites including various fortified castles, standing stones like Externsteine, platforms such as the Ostersteine and many Sacred groves.
She was venerated beside Lollus The Green Lord in a Hessian grove and was also venerated alongside the gods Walpurga, Wotan, Frija, Urschel etc in the Harz mountains. Often her veneration including other goddesses like Eostar, an Earth goddess as well as another deity (unknown) in a Matronae like trio symbolized by Three Hares.

Her imagery is that of a Dianic goddess, who dwells in the forest with crescent horns and shining face who in old texts on the Saxon Gods of the Week placed Ostara as a goddess of the Moon who has a male counterpart; one known as Oster.
In some ways her veneration has continued being as one of the many who form the Easter Pantheon of Woodland critters with Hot Cross Buns still baked in her honor!

Motherless by Samuel Luke Fildes
Hush now child. I know the emptiness and pain within yer heart. Today we weep because we miss her so but soon the sun shall rise again and we must learn once more to laugh. So for now let your tears flow like rivers but do nay cry out in your despair for she can hear you and it will cause to her pain and regret in going. That we cannot abide.
I love you wee one so weep, feel no shame in your sorrow. Get it all out and we shall remember her together for always.

A Question posed to me: "How do you explain what 'the old ways' are?"

I describe the "old ways" as anything falling in line with what we do naturally. Unfortunately so many of our people are so removed from that notion that the simplest ideas seem puzzling at best.

Is it not true that if I explain something to a child and they understand but an adult calls it "big brain and complex" the issue is not the information nor the presentation, is it not more likely the adult has been so far removed from our natural behavior that the very concepts presented have become completely foreign to them?
