Brigid of Ireland
There are numerous shrines and wells dedicated to Brigid across Ireland, especially in Kildare where the goddess was honored with an eternal flame that burned until the 16th century, it was relit in 1993. These wells often have healing power and some have clamed it has cured their cancer. She was hidden under St. Brigid who continued pretty much every aspect of Brigid and absorbed many of her stories. The split between Ireland and Northern Ireland was partially caused by the desire of the Catholics to continue venerating Brigid who they knew was a goddess and did not want to switch to Protestantism and lose their deity. Within Catholicism there is an active debate on whether Brigid should replace St. Patrick as Patron saint of Ireland, as one is an oppressor of pagans and the other is a thinly veiled pagan goddess my personal choice is obvious.-TLK

Today is January 28th the day which commemorates the death of one of our peoples most vile enemies, Charlemagne. While much of the world celebrates his life we instead celebrate his death. We do this by making effigies of Charlemagne around which we gather beating it with sticks throughout the day. Additionally during this day of celebration we will repeatedly remind ourselves of his crimes and foul deeds as well as those done in his name long after his death as recorded by the awarding of the Charlemagne awards by calling them aloud so that we might never forget the horrors performed by both himself and his followers. The celebration culminating in the burning of the effigy after the sun goes down as we sing and dance around his burning "corpse".

Traditional Ethnic practice an animist spirituality, which is different from other religions, as one can join or leave, but one is born with a natural spirituality, an inherent knowledge of what are positive actions that should be done, and what are negative actions that should not be done. The greatest virtue taught to every Hyperborean child is generosity and love for family, clan, and tribe.

The peer review system is flawed and most people are unaware of this state in the scientific and academic fields, as stated in the video above 60% of peer reviewed papers will bear false results, premise or presentation. While it is true some steps have been taken to correct this issue the sad reality is the situation has worsened since the creation of this video as there are groups who take pride in getting false studies and premises peer reviewed even entering the news cycle in the attempt to show the flaws in the system. While this noble trolling is truly epic much of the false information still enters the social unconscious altering perceptions, even affecting policies and laws despite coming forward stating the information was fabricated and false.
Question everything. Even the experts.

Spirit of the Day #32
Messenger Honeybees
Honeybees like many animals of Europe, double as spirits in their own right. Often functioning as messengers of the gods, or the land of the dead. In Greek mythology the pathway to the land of the dead could be found in rocks and small openings, where Bees often made their hives as a result the land of the dead (Hades) was thought to be filled with honey and beehives. They are messengers of the otherworld in Celtic Mythology, and are a messenger of the god Ukko in Finnish Mythology. Being instrumental in the resurrection of Lemminkäinen in the Kalevala, by delivering Honey to his mother.
