Lost Among the Lost: Poetry & Prose
Gandalf, from the Lord of the Rings is a popular and well known figure in modern culture. However, Gandalf is an amalgamation of multiple influences and cultures. While one of the most notable deities he is influenced by is Odin. There is at least 4 other mythic figures who serve as inspirations for Gandalf. The Dwarf "Gandalf" (Magic Staff-Elf) due to initially being a dwarf in early versions. While the wizard Merlin has obvious aspects the two other notable figures are Rübezahl, a mountain spirit from Bohemian folklore whose visage was used as the inspiration for his appearance. Which Tolkien wrote on a postcard featuring him. The final notable inspiration is Väinämöinen, a Finnish deity and wizard/shaman. With at least 5 mythic sources of lore is it any wonder Gandalf is so influential.-TLK
Apathy Vs. Anger
Does the falcon feel anger towards the rabbit? Does the Wolf hate the deer as he runs it down tearing at its hind legs until he can bite at its throat? Is the bear driven by fear lashing out blindly at all times? No. They are apathetic to the plight of the creatures they hunt. They kill with satisfaction of a successful hunt. They share their victory with others of their kind with contentment.
They grieve the loss of their own, the predator knows it must pass on what it can to the next generation to protect them and care for them by protecting and caring for each other. The wolf does not know hate, nor the bear or even the falcon. Yet they love. They mourn the loss of another. They fight and kill as they must with no regret nor anger fueled hatred of the other. Pure determination and strength of will drives them through the coldest of winters, through famine and drought to carry on. They simply do as they must to continue.

One of the things that can kind of fly right by in ethnic faith practices, is the ethnic part. In essence the people are the focus, and this is never more clear than in what many will call "The Cult of the Dead" though this is a fancy term for Ancestor Veneration. Both those that have been and those yet to come. Most holidays tie into it somehow Halloween and similar holidays being the most blatant. Other traditions included communing with the ancestors, continuing traditions, leaving out food, many ancestors became deities including Julius Caesar, Sviatoslav, Asclepius, and many more. While the notable House Elves and Fairy Godmothers were both archaic and newer nicknames for ancestral tutelary deities. Cinderella originally features help from her mothers spirit, and in Sardinia XMAS veneer is completely gone as elves are instead ancestors who steal from stores to give gifts. The gods are but one part of a vast whole, and many are ancestors themselves whether risen or in an incarnation, it's about kin.-TLK
One of the projects we have ongoing is that of looking at popular tales of folklore especially concerning Grimm's fairy tales and remything it to show what was hidden beneathe. Our second finished one complete with original art can be found here and in our second magazine. Keep an eye out for an eventual book containing many remythed tales. -TLK https://wylderhomesproject.life/2021/07/21/bearskin-grimm-remything-project/

Today we spoke of the many issues facing the modern ethnic faith movement. The issues of the Indo-European fallacy, the toxic politicization of European ethnic faiths, the innate nature of pagan beliefs and its ties to our own nature. The fact that Paganism/Ethnic Faith has become a sub-culture akin to goth or greaser and needs to not allow itself to become this. That we must acknowledge whether we want our ethnic faith to return or to fade. What is this to us? A hobby? or a remembrance of who we truly are? We have allowed ourselves to be taken advantage of by charlatans and false heathens. We cannot allow ourselves to let this continue. This is one of the most important shows we've done, if we want our old ways to return we must be willing to embody them and show who we truly are, and not let others control the narrative.

The Biggest Lie on Ethnic Faith
I think one of the biggest lies that has been spread about European ethnic faith is that it ended. It did not. Holidays, traditions, cuisine, language, everything has remnants and continuations of these traditions. It is not a complex or secretive tradition, it is with us in every day life. It is birthday's and Christmas dinners, it is the celebration of life, of birth, and the mourning of our loved ones. It is a love for your family and people. The complexities of deities and myths, of spirits and rituals are all additions to the core of what and who we are. Do you hang stockings and tell stories of ancestors long past? of holiday figures like Santa Claus or Jack Frost? Do you continue the tradition of teaching your friends and family how to cook or carve or hunt or sew? There are no tattoos or pendants, idols or novels necessary. It is not a costume or a music genre, a hobby or a sub culture, it is as with every other ethnic faith integral to a people. It spawns from us, and at its central focus is the people. Not Odin or Prometheus, but the child before you and the grandparent teaching you the lessons they worked hard to earn. It is integral to us, the unbaptized were known to belong to the the heathen gods, and were known as little pagans or little heathens to the church. Even the very doctrine of the church acknowledges this is our default not a competing faith. We are who we are, and to those outside us that is something they cannot abide.

A common thing I see in Ethnic faith circles is the idea of initiation and mystery cults. Which were definitely a thing, here is something that may have been missed though. Not everyone was in them. Sure there were rites of passage for important parts of life, and celebrations and tales. But the idea of a specific initiation ritual or esoteric meaning of something was not the main focus of every single "pagan" nor should it be. Is everyone today part of the Elks? or the Masons? or any other esoteric Abrahamic tradition? No? Most people are just living life doing what they do. Telling stories and doing their best. You don't need to learn to tell fortunes, or do drugs to have a vision, or heck even really learn a myriad of deities. Most people relied on one or two usually those close to home and their area of expertise? Hearth, Forge, and fertility or maybe war, death, and love. Who knows each individual will differ. Some had none. Esotericism is extra, live well, and be of your people.-TLK

These are images of various ethnic groups of indigenous white people. The world needs to be reminded that just like there are Native Americans, and other native/indigenous peoples, there are also native Europeans. People of the world were brainwashed to view white people as being associated with Christian western civilization, but that’s a wrong way of identifying white ethnic groups. White ethnic groups are no less indigenous than any other indigenous people around the world. I think this awareness must be put out into the world
There's been a lot of hullabaloo about hair color in European circles. While yes different tribal groups in Europe tend to favor one or the other hair color at different points in history. The reality is that just like other animals of the north foxes, bears, even Squirrels. Hyperboreans (Europeans/People of the North) indeed have various arrays of "Pelt" colors. It's a mark of the Northern woods. -TLK
