A story from Plato speaks about the origin of Love. In it he describes how man and woman were once a single being, however this being was so powerful even the gods fear it. In order to avoid such a creatures power the gods split them into two "Man" and "Woman" the desire to be made whole again is considered the origin of Love. While this story is more or less a philosophical metaphor it does have a fairly deep and important point to be made regarding the relationship between the divine feminine and divine masculine.-TLK
Moss Maidens, or Moss people are Germanic tree spirits hunted by the wild hunt. They are similar in a sense to dryads. They can escape the hunt by jumping into trees to hide which also double as a portal to a sort of pocket realm or hidden home. Ewicher Yeeger a German deity is said to collect plant spirits around Halloween so that King Frost and the Frost Giants do not kill them as they pass through, however it is unclear if this is a regional differentiation of the Wild Hunt-Plant Spirit relationship or if there are parts of the hunt that protect and parts of the hunt that simply hunt. Given their role in the changing of the seasons it is unclear. Regardless the Moss People are more tied into wild plants such as the forest, where as many of the corn spirits that travel with the Wild Hunt are more domesticated and associated with agriculture.-TLK

In Greek mythology the origin of the Milky Way comes from a myth involving Heracles. Heracles is suckling Hera's breast (The exact situation varies) but then Hera forces him away and the milk that spurts out becomes the Milky Way. The Milky Way holds an important place in many European mythologies. A Gaulo-Iberian pagan pilgrimage which was rebranded as tied to Santiago follows the Milky Way. Though each region and people will have a differing name and myth associated with it. For some of the Slavs it is considered "Veles' Hair" which are the strands that have come off his extremely hairy mane (Wildman deity), while in Finland it is known as "The Pathway of the Birds" while among the Irish it is "The Way of the White Cow" among other names. While in Germanic Mythology the god Irmin was said to drive his chariot across the Milky Way. These are but a few of the many names and myths associated with this important part of our cosmos.-TLK

“I have seen them riding seaward on the waves
Combing the white hair of the waves blown back
When the wind blows the water white and black.
We have lingered in the chambers of the sea
By sea-girls wreathed with seaweed red and brown.”

King Barbarossa (Red Beard) is a sleeping king myth from Germany he is said to be asleep in the Kyffhäuser mountain range. In some myths he is watched over by Mother Holle, via whom he delivers prophecies. He is also attended by a servant who he will occasionally ask if the Raven's are still flying around the mountain. If they are, he will remain asleep until the people of Germany need him. His red beard is said to have grown through the table and it is said when it has grown around the table a certain amount of times the end of the age is at hand and he will awake. The story of Barbarossa is sometimes thought to be a Christian cover up for the god Wotan or a similar deity. However, this is unclear. Though Barbarossa does appear as a member or leader of the Wild Hunt. Sleeping King Myths such as Barbarossa's have a blatant Pagan origin with figures like Finn McCool and King Arthur being notable versions of said myth.-TLK
