I remember watching and reading about Ray Dalio's Changing World Order all the way back in 2022, so its pretty crazy to see it play out over the years almost to the tee

There is no solid proof that drinking more water improves your skin if you're already getting a normal amount.
The stuff your skin actually wants: fatty fish like salmon, zinc, vitamin A, vitamin C, and sunscreen. Not glass number eight. Your skin would rather you ate salmon and wore sunscreen.

The stay-at-home boyfriend is now an economic trend as more women than men go to work
• This seems to be more of a long-term decline that’s led to more of a permanent shift going forward, or at least semi-permanent.
• It’s not women entering, it’s men leaving the labor force
• Part of the story: roughly 70% of the hours young men aren’t working are being spent on video games and recreational computer use. The economists calculated that improvements in gaming technology since 2004 alone can explain nearly half the increase in young men’s leisure hours.
• Female-dominated industries such as healthcare and social assistance has been growing, while male-skewing sectors like manufacturing, tech, finance, have been stagnant or contracting
• The pipeline is female, the growth sectors are female, and the jobs most protected from AI displacement — caregiving, healthcare, in-person services — are female. The jobs most exposed to AI are disproportionately held by men. More strikingly, Ullrich noted, is as women move into the workforce and up the corporate ladder, they create jobs for women, including daycare, pet care, and in-home services.
• The trend seems to be a one-way door with no cyclicality

The stay-at-home boyfriend is no longer just a TikTok trend. He’s a Federal Reserve data point. And the woman paying his rent is, increasingly, the American economy.

this is interesting and makes a lot of sense thinking about it
ageing population -> increase in healthcare and social assistance (predominantly women-skew)
women going to work -> need more babysitters/helper/daycare -> women-skewed jobs
ai taking jobs -> mainly male-skewed jobs aka men being displaced
given how civilisation is cyclical, maybe its a whole cycle between men and women in power
am unsure if the world lives to see another cycle before we kill each other or mother nature, but i definitely won't be alive by then!
