Dear Human Nodes,

With the launch of the Vortex Simulator (or proto-Vortex) and the invitation for Human Nodes to begin their journey toward participating as governors of Humanode - holding voting power in Humanode’s decisions and gaining a real voice in its future - we will be implementing several changes to the fee structure.

Please note that those who become governors will also gain a voice in future decisions concerning fee structures.

First and foremost, the fee structure for validators who complete 42/42 epochs will remain the same.

The subsidy structure for liquid validators will also remain in place and will continue to operate under the following caps:
• Cap 1: a maximum of 150,000 HMND per month (thus a maximum of 37,500 HMND per week)
• Cap 2: a maximum of 7,500 USD per month worth of HMND (thus a maximum of 1,875 USD per week worth of HMND)
• Cap 3: a fee-rate cap of x100 of the naturally collected fees from the chain

For each period, the lowest of these caps will be the one that takes effect.

For example, if the chain accumulates 1,476 HMND in naturally collected fees in a month, then under Cap 3 the effective cap becomes 147,600 HMND. Since this is lower than the 150,000 HMND cap, then 147,600 HMND is the cap that takes effect for that period.

It is important to note that in the liquid validator set, your position matters. The fewer epochs you miss in a week, the higher you will rank in the list.

Validator polls will be discontinued.

Governance participation and reward

In addition to the validator subsidy structure described above, active governors in Vortex will receive the equivalent of 25 USD in HMND for governance participation, provided they meet the required conditions.

This governor reward is separate from the validator subsidy structure.

To be eligible for this governance reward, a Human Node must satisfy the required conditions for active participation in governance.

This is not an easy task. In order to become a governor, a Human Node would need to have their proposal accepted in Vortex, maintain voting participation above the required threshold, and remain active in governance.

Therefore:
• validators continue to be ranked and subsidized under the existing capped validator fee structure, and
• active governors who fulfill their governance requirements receive a separate 25 USD-equivalent HMND governance reward.

As Vortex evolves, there will be further changes, and those participating in Vortex will have the right - and the duty - to take part in the discussions and voting that shape its future.

We’ve got an important heads-up for you. There’s a scheduled reset coming up for the biometric servers for the Humanode chain, Biomapper, and BotBasher.

Schedule
When: Thursday, April 9th
What’s happening: We’ll be performing a scheduled reset to upgrade CVMs and biometric servers to improve security.

What it means:
For Node runners and Vortex participants
• You’ll need to go through bioauthentication enrollment again after the reset. This ensures your node keeps running without interruptions.

• No need to rotate or change keys; just re-enroll and re-authenticate.

• We’ll post an announcement right after the reset, so you can re-enroll within the same epoch.

• Try to complete it within 1–2 hours to avoid any downtime in your validator status.

For LP Stakers & Cross-Chain Biomapper Users
• If you’re staking or have bridged your biomap cross-chain, you’ll need to biomap again.

• This will re-link your EVM address so you can continue receiving your rewards in LP staking and prove your uniqueness on the cross-chain biomapper.

For Discord & Telegram BotBasher Users
• If you’re verified as a unique human, you’ll need to reverify and regain your role.

• Server admins using BotBasher for Sybil resistance will need to recreate the assigned role. We’ll share step-by-step instructions for admins separately.

The reset won’t all happen at once.

We’ll announce each server reset separately so everyone can stay in sync.

Keep an eye on these Discord channels in the Humanode Official Server for real-time updates:

We’ll let you know when each part of the reset is complete so you can jump back in and re-enroll.

This is a regular reset that happens roughly every six months. During this period, we clear out old biometric data and refresh our servers.

This reset is also a chance if you want to:
• Change your validator address

• Link a new Discord or Telegram account

• Link a new EVM address to your biomap

Biometric servers update and reset for Humanode network

Dear human nodes, 

The biometric servers for Humanode Mainnet have been updated and reset for upgrades.

Please re-enroll and re-authenticate to ensure that your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch.

Keep in mind that you do not need to rotate the keys, but you must re-enroll. Another thing to note is that this update of the biometric servers will not affect BotBasher or Biomapper verification, and all previous encrypted biometric data is deleted forever during this process.

1. BotBasher for Discord Servers Reset and Updated

We've reset and updated BotBasher for Discord servers. BotBasher has been updated to Gen. 8, and Gen. 7 roles are deprecated and can no longer be obtained.

For everything to work smoothly, the server administrators will need to create a new role based on the latest generation, i.e., Gen. 8 BotBasher.

Users will need to verify using the latest Generation (`Gen. 8`) to get the human-verified status.

For those on the Humanode Discord server, you can go ahead and become a verified Human again.

2. BotBasher for Telegram Servers Reset and Updated

We've reset and updated BotBasher Telegram version’s servers.

Users will need to verify and relink their Telegram accounts to enter the Sybil-resistance channels.

Channel admins will need to update to the latest version to keep their channels sybil resistance.
