TL;DR
Hello, human nodes! Welcome to our biweekly report, where we cover the latest news, development updates, and recent events from the Humanode project. Let’s dive in!

Last week, the team conducted comprehensive updates to Humanode’s primary biometric provider, Facetec.

The biometric servers were updated and rebooted. Please go through bio-authentication enrollment and reauthenticate to ensure your node continues to run seamlessly without missing an epoch. No key rotation is necessary, but re-enrollment is required.

The biometric servers for Humanode Biostaker have also been updated. To claim your rewards, please Biomap. This update does not affect your stakes, but Biomapping is necessary to claim rewards.

On top of that, BotBasher has been updated to Gen4, and the server has been reset. Gen3 roles are now deprecated. Server administrators need to create new roles based on Gen4 BotBasher. Users on the Humanode Discord server can re-verify to obtain new roles. This one-time verification will be valid across all Gen4 Discord servers. Remember, biometrics can only be tied to one Discord account. Mistakes in account linking will require a six-month wait for the next reset.

Significant progress continues on Humanode’s blockchain infrastructure. The team is merging v0.9.42 of Substrate and has included support for BLS12–381 and BN128 into the 118 runtime spec version. These updates will be available on it6 and testnet5 this week. For detailed insights, visit Humanode GitHub.

A new proprietary testing tool has been developed, addressing the limitations of ZombieNet, especially in scaling to large node numbers. This tool enables testing across multiple nodes, with plans to scale up to 5k validators in the near future.

Furthermore, the team is experimenting with Confidential Virtual Machine (CVM) attestation, starting with a chat server example. This CVM will allow authorized clients to exchange messages if verified, representing a significant step in Humanode’s R&D efforts.

A new paper on the governing structure of Vortex DAO is now available. Learn more about how human nodes will govern the network.

📣 Dear participants of the LP staking pool!

With sad hearts, we must announce that the current LP staking program is coming to an end on May 18th.  Good things must come to an end… but only if we want it to!  The Humanode Core team has decided to extend the duration of the current LP staking program by another 6 months by adding 2,628,000 HMND (the same amount as the last pool) to the WeHMND/USDC reward pool!  

The current participants will be required to restake to a new pool. Once that’s done, rewards will start rolling in again the moment the reward pool is replenished.

In addition to this, for those who are feeling a little more bullish, we plan to launch a new LP staking program for WeHMND/WETH with 913,230 HMND allocated to the reward pool for 6 months. However, the good news is, we'll be deploying a new WeHMND/USDC pool, scheduled for 12:00 UTC on May 20th, at block 7821390.

For those currently staked in the previous pool, move your assets to the new contract to continue earning rewards.

Remember, while no new rewards will be issued to the old pool, you can still claim rewards accumulated so far.

🔺 LP Staking Program Extended
The WeHMND/USDC LP staking contract (0xe9547763Baf3C89ba832bb912e6F3472cfC98402) concluded on May 18th, 2024. A new one for the WeHMND/USDC pool was deployed on May 20th at block 7821390. The team has extended the current LP staking program by another 6 months, adding 2,628,000 HMND to the reward pool. Additionally, a new LP staking program for WeHMND/WETH is anticipated. 🔺 Blockchain Progress
Our dev team continues to enhance Humanode's blockchain infrastructure. The version 118 chain release has been deployed to it6 and testnet5. For detailed insights, check out Humanode GitHub.

🔺 E2E Network Testing
Last week, we improved the Humanode network codebase by adding additional E2E tests and fixing warnings. We are developing a proprietary testing tool to address the limitations of ZombieNet, particularly in scaling to large node numbers. The goal is to scale up to 5K validators in the near future.

🔺 Robonode Enhancements
Robonode is our term for an autonomous virtual machine (VM) operating within a Trusted Execution Environment that securely stores the biometric data of validators. Last week, we completed the integration of the ScanResultBlob pattern on the Robonode side.

🔺 BotBasher and Biomapper Updates
Sessions in BotBasher and Biomapper now expire after 6 hours, a change from the previous configuration where sessions did not expire at all.

🔺 BotBasher x Telegram
Our dev team has been discussing Telegram integration with BotBasher, seeking expert input and brainstorming approaches. Last week, we began working on Telegram integration schemes.

🔺 Mainnet Website Localization
Significant progress has been made in localizing the Humanode website, with localization now shipped. Several locales, in addition to English, are in progress.

🔺 Mainnet Landing Page Updates
Updates include the participate tab and the active validator count.

We're partnering with @ContinuumDAO deploying their decentralized MPC infrastructre to the Humanode EVM.

The integration is already live on Humanode Testnet.

After successful integration on Humanode Mainnet dApps will enjoy enhanced cross-chain functionality, including seamless token and data transfers.

Version 118 has been rolled out, introducing new precompiles for maintaining oracles and smart contracts that allow for zk-proof verification. Last week, we tested block finalization schemes using Grafana, ensuring there are no delays in the finalization of blocks.

🔺 BotBasher x Telegram
Our team is working on integrating Telegram with BotBasher. Last week, we developed and tested various integration schemes. The following kinds of actions have been verified: getting chat participants, kicking users from chat, listening chat joining request, listening chat config changes.

As May draws to a close, we are excited to share the latest progress and achievements from Humanode over the past two weeks.

Firstly, the team announced the extension of Humanode’s LP staking program for another 6 months. Following the conclusion of the old LP staking contract on May 18th, a new contract for the WeHMND/USDC pool was deployed on May 20th. This extension adds 2,628,000 HMND to the reward pool, providing the community with continued opportunities for participation and rewards. Moreover, the team is preparing to launch a new LP staking program for WeHMND/WETH, further expanding our staking options. Furthermore, the team introduced the Vortex Guidebook, a comprehensive resource that describes Humanode’s governance structure. Understanding governance mechanisms is crucial for active community participation and decision-making, and the Vortex Guidebook aims to make this information accessible to all.

Worth mentioning, Humanode’s new State of Crypto Governance series delves into the complexities of decentralized decision-making in blockchain protocols, providing insights into the nuances of governance infrastructure. Turning to Humanode’s development efforts, the team has been hard at work enhancing blockchain infrastructure with Substrate updates, facilitating integration with layer 2 networks and bridges. We are also excited about Humanode’s ongoing integration efforts, particularly the integration of Telegram with BotBasher: last week, the team developed and tested various integration schemes, getting chat participants, kicking users from chat, listening chat joining request, listening chat config changes. On the user experience front, the team has improved the Biostaker UI, ensuring a seamless staking experience for the community.

In terms of partnerships, Humanode continues to expand its ecosystem. The collaboration with Analog will facilitate seamless connectivity between Humanode and other chains, enabling dApps to leverage Humanode’s cryptobiometric technology for Sybil-resistance. Additionally, the partnership with ContinuumDAO brings decentralized MPC infrastructure to the Humanode EVM, enhancing cross-chain functionality and liquidity.
