Post Mortem Report on the Impossible Finance Incident
Dear Humanode community and friends,
We want to share a comprehensive post mortem report on the recent incident that occurred on December 1, 2023, involving the WeHMND/USDC staking pool on Impossible Finance(IF) DEX.
Quick Recap:
1. The incident was triggered by a miscommunication within the Impossible Finance team, leading to an erroneous contract configuration change.
2. Quick response by Humanode and IF teams, plus a cooperative user, led to the safe return of the extracted USDC.
3. The issue was fully resolved by December 5, 2023, with no funds lost.
4. Measures have been taken to prevent such occurrences in the future, including introducing an emergency chain pause feature, improving anti-fraud measures at bridges, deploying multisig to our chain, and implementing a proactive anomaly detection system.

🔺 Substrate Updates & Internal Testnet 6
Significant strides have been made in Substrate updates: v0.9.40, currently greenlit for internal tests, and the adaptation of changes for version v0.9.42 stand out as major milestones. The groundwork for the primary components is already in place, and the runtime upgrade is nearing completion.
Additionally, the transition of the EVM version from London to Shanghai has kicked off in the release cycle. For a more detailed view, explore Humanode’s GitHub here. Exciting new features are on the horizon in the coming weeks!
🔺 Biomapper Documentation is Almost Ready
Our development team is actively involved in crafting comprehensive documentation for Biomapper, and it's nearly ready for release. Stay tuned for updates! In the meantime, peruse Humanode’s full documentation here.
