This diagram summarises how vitamin B1 (thiamine) was first isolated.

1. Treat brewers yeast with Fuller's earth
2. Add barium hydroxide
3. Fractionate with silver nitrite
4. Precipitate
4. Decompose precipitate with hydrochloric acid
5. Treat with Phosphotungstic acid
6. Dissolve precipitate with acetone
7. Reprecipitate
8. Decompose precipitate with barium hydroxide
9. Evaporate solution to dryness
10. Add absolute alcohol
11. Precipitate with platinum chloride
12. Extract with water

The final crystalline powder substance was given to some birds which reversed neurological symptoms induced by a diet of white rice (i.e. beriberi).

The chemists claimed the substance they created in the lab was the same as what is in food (i.e. vitamin B1), despite never demonstrating it existed in the food in the first place, and failing to control for a single step in their experiment.

How can anyone accept this as proof of the existence of vitamins?

Does Mould Cause Disease?

Most people believe mould is there to cause disease, destroy your home, and make your life a misery. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Mould is not the cause of the problem, it's the consequence of the problem. It's there to serve a purpose by cleaning up the mess humans have created with the use of toxic chemicals and building materials.

No one in the health and wellness industry is looking at mould this way. They create fear around breathing in mould spores or mycotoxins, and promote various treatments that fail to address the true cause.

People point to mycotoxins as proof that mould causes disease. However, mould just doesn't randomly produce mycotoxins.

The medium mould is grown on, its food source, and environmental conditions like temperature determine the type and amount of so-called 'mycotoxins' mould produces.

This slide shows the results of a paper published by Cullen et al. where mycotoxin production increased up to 127x simply by changing the medium, food, and temperature.

Mould isn't the cause of the problem. It's there to do a job, which is dependent upon the terrain in which it exists.

This is a great example of why the germ is nothing and the terrain is everything. It's just one of the many pieces of information presented in "Does Mould Cause Disease?".

On Thursday the 28th of March I had a book launch for Can You Catch A Cold?: Untold History & Human Experiments.

The online event was an incredible success, with more than 40 people from across the world attending. We were fortunate enough to be joined by two very special guests, Dr Sam and Dr Mark Bailey from drsambailey.com, who have recently released their book, The Final Pandemic. The doctor's Bailey played a crucial role in the production of Can You Catch A Cold?, with Sam writing the foreword and Mark spending countless hours reviewing and editing the draft manuscript.

We had a great conversation about all things cold and flu, contagion, terrain theory, germ theory, and much more.

Today's episode of "Conversations with Dr. Cowan and Friends" is easily one of the most important podcasts that I have done these past few years. As you will hear, Daniel Roytas, a former senior lecturer in nutrition in Australia, has taken a deep dive into the scientific evidence for the claim that "flu and colds" are caused by transmissible microbes, i.e. contagion.

After four years of research, I would say that Daniel has the best handle of anyone alive as to whether contagion is real, and, if not, how and why one might get sick by being around other sick people. This interview will go a long way toward clearing up those long-sought answers to chickenpox parties and other so-called contagious events.

Can You Catch A Cold?: Untold History & Human Experiments - Out Now!

Many people have been asking about my position on vitamin D. Whether or not people choose to take a supplement is up to them, but it's important to remember a few key things.

1. There's no replacement for sun exposure. Vitamin D pills cannot correct a sunlight deficiency.
2. The beneficial effects of sun exposure are not due to vitamin D, but rather the exposure to electromagnetic radiation (i.e. sunlight). It's the light having the effect, not the 'vitamin D'.
3. Vitamin D blood concentrations are a proxy marker for sun exposure. Vitamin D is the evidence of exposure to the sun, nothing more.
4. Sun exposure has dozens of beneficial effects above & beyond that of vitamin D.
5. Vitamin D is a hormone, therefore supplementing with it is hormone replacement therapy, not vitamin therapy.
6. In 2022, France classified vitamin D as a substance of very high concern as an endocrine disruptor. Do we really know what this synthetic substance is doing?

Seek the sun, not supplements.

This is Lulu, when she was born a few days ago we had no idea what to do, so we turned to other goat owners in real life and on the internet for advice. Unsurprisingly, they recommended injections, drugs, and other invasive interventions.

We decided to take a different approach. Instead, we got out of the way, observed, and trusted in the innate intelligence that is Mother Nature.

It's crazy, how on one hand, people trust that this little goats body is perfect enough to keep its heart beating, lungs breathing, gut digesting, eyes seeing, and ears hearing. Yet, on the other hand, believe it's so imperfect that it can't possibly survive without being poked, prodded, injected, dosed, fed, and lathered with some kind of man-made concoction.

Trust in men, or trust in nature. I know where my allegiance lies.
