過往每年到六四前夕，民主派議員都有六四提案，而維園燭光晚會更是全球悼念的動要活動。在香港通過《國安法》之後，雖然維園燭光不再，但今年除了美國眾議院提出悼念六四受害者決議案、人權觀察批評習近平清洗六四有關記憶外，全球更有超過50場遊行、展覽和燭光晚會，從周五（2日）至六四當晚，接力悼念天安門死難者和譴責中國暴政。
