Over 200 mid-career graduates took the next step at our Job Fair, meeting 8 healthcare employers, asking questions, and discovering career opportunities to make a difference in hospitals, community care, and home settings.

We were glad to have Mdm Rahayu Mahzam, Minister of State, Ministry of Digital Development and Information, & Ministry of Health, tour the fair and share in the excitement of learners stepping into their new journeys.

To our employer partners β€” thank you for opening doors and believing in our graduates. Your support turns courage into careers and learning into lasting impact.

Learning to save a life starts with a single skill and the courage to act. πŸ«€

As part of Project Heart 2025 x World Restart A Heart Day, our instructors volunteered alongside the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) and the Singapore Heart Foundation to train and certify participants in CPR and AED πŸ…

Through this initiative, our instructors empowered over 30 sports participants with practical, hands-on experience and the confidence to act in a cardiac emergency.

This nationwide effort strengthens our shared mission to build a community where everyone has the confidence and ability to respond in a cardiac emergency.

Together, we’re making every heartbeat count. πŸ’“

Meet Esther, a graduate of the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare (Nursing) with Perioperative Specialisation. At the ceremony, she delivered a moving citation, sharing her inspiring learner journey.

Esther pivoted to healthcare after 20 years in banking and the seafood industry. A personal experience with her father’s illness inspired her to seek greater purpose and impact.

Through SCTP, she gained hands-on nursing and operating theatre skills, applied them during clinical attachments at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and discovered the fulfilment of compassionate care.

Today, she is taking the next step with the Career Conversion Programme for Registered Nurses, embracing new challenges and opportunities to make a greater impact on patients and the community.

Giving back while learning is at the heart of our SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP) πŸ’™

At the HSA Blood Bank, our therapy support students guided blood donors and applied compression bandages after donations. They also observed healthcare processes, interacted with staff, and learned the importance of donor care and patient safety. Beyond training and clinical attachments, these hands-on experiences help build confidence and empathy in real healthcare settings.

At HMI Institute, we are committed to developing professionals who combine knowledge with genuine care.
Meet Teck Peng, a Senior Therapy Assistant at Jurong Community Hospital. πŸ’™

Ten years ago, Teck Peng made a bold move, leaving a career in finance to pursue a more meaningful path in healthcare. He enrolled in the WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare Support (Therapy Support) at HMI Institute in 2015 and has been making a meaningful impact over the past ten years.

Today, he listens to patients’ stories, motivates them through therapy, and supports his team with ideas that improve care and efficiency. His dedication, empathy, and continuous growth earned him the Core Value Award, nominated by his employer, recognising the difference he makes every day.

Teck Peng’s journey shows that with courage, training, and commitment, a mid-career switch can lead to a fulfilling and impactful career. 🌱
