Next.js is hyped, but not everything needs it.
It’s like using Laravel for a 3-page website: overkill.

The React team’s official docs lean heavily into Next.js because it’s the most popular “meta-framework” around React — but that makes beginners think they must learn Next to even use React properly, which isn’t true.

React is the core skill. Next.js is an advanced tool.
The hype + “React team recommends Next” creates a false sense of dependency — when in reality, 90% of apps are fine with React + Vite + some backend
