香港警察今晨以涉嫌違反國安法拘捕壹傳媒創辦人黎智英，並大舉搜查壹傳媒大樓，警察國安處高級警司李桂華見記者時，警察公共關係科審查現場傳媒，僅容許「本地、規模較大」、「不會阻礙警方行動」及「不威脅警員安全」的傳媒，接近壹傳媒大樓，採訪李桂華。
多家網媒、包括香港電台、《立場新聞》、《香港獨立媒體》等記者均被拒採訪，而 TVB、商台、有線電視、《NOW》、《香港01》、《東方日報》則可入內。
另外警察公共關係科又向香港電台記者稱，由於現場並不寬敞，只能容納少量傳媒，故揀選「過往警方行動中沒對警方帶來阻礙和威脅」的傳媒入內。
