Anthropic and OpenAI are preparing for a major “AI catastrophe”: AI developers are working through scenarios in which society and governments turn against them.

Axios insiders say a global cyberattack is the most likely scenario — it could knock out banks, the internet, and even public utilities. Such a crisis is expected within the next 6–12 months.

After that, attempts could be made to ban AI or freeze its development. That’s why the companies are already working with politicians to influence future laws.

Will PS5 exclusives become a thing of the past? The AnyPS5 project for running Sony games on PC is actively being developed on GitHub. The most interesting part is that it’s not an emulator.

It works roughly like Proton on the Steam Deck, which runs Windows games on Linux. In simple terms, AnyPS5 converts the game’s files for PC, so unlike emulators, everything should run faster.

For now, one game runs fully: the platformer Dreaming Sarah delivers 60 FPS even on an old GTX 1050 Ti.

The project has completely reverse-engineered the PS5’s graphics, while the console’s core system functions have already been rewritten to 95–97%.

Pringles is giving away an urn for your ashes shaped like a can of chips — the winner will also get a 200-year supply of chips😳

For Halloween, the brand launched the Once You Drop promotion: participants are invited to sign a will stating that after their death, their ashes should be buried in a Pringles can. One participant will receive a metal urn shaped like the iconic packaging, complete with personalized engraving and a lid, as well as a 200-year supply of chips.

The promotion was inspired by the story of Fred Baur, the creator of Pringles’ cylindrical packaging. After his death in 2008, some of his ashes were buried in a chip can at his request.

Entries are being accepted until October 22, and the winner is set to be announced on Halloween😒😒😒.

For the first time in years, Apple has had to crack down on resellers: a limit of no more than two devices per customer has been introduced for iPhone Duo orders.

Similar limits were imposed only for the launches of the original iPhone and the iPhone 5. Demand for the Duo turned out to be just as high. The earliest delivery dates have already been pushed back to late January.

Apparently, scalpers managed to stock up without any restrictions. On eBay, the smartphones are being sold for $5,000–8,000, with shipping on the first day of sales.

Neural networks have broken marketing: a developer shared a preview of his game on Twitter — within just 24 hours, someone uploaded a full copy of his project on Roblox.

The original creator didn’t even have time to set up a Steam page before a guy from Morocco picked up his idea.

Releasing demos and making previews may soon become unprofitable. After all, vibe coders can copy everything instantly.
