A Briton spent 28 years walking around the planet. And finally made it home.
Karl Bushby set off back in 1998. He was 29 at the time, serving in the British Army, and decided to walk around the Earth without traveling a single kilometer by any form of transport. Thus began the Goliath Expedition.
Over the years, Karl trekked through the jungles of the Darién Gap, where he was detained by an armed group, crossed the Bering Strait on the ice, and tried several times to make his way through Russia. Financial troubles and visa issues dragged the journey out. In 2024, he even swam across the Caspian Sea—it took him 31 days.
In November 2026, Bushby crossed the Humber Bridge and returned to his hometown of Hull. Behind him are more than 50,000 kilometers and almost three decades on the road. Now the Briton admits he has no idea what he’ll do next.
Take a break, Karl. Take a break😘

Voice messages can reveal your location: an OSINT researcher came up with a way to determine someone’s location from the sound of airplanes.
When a plane flies nearby, the pitch of its engine noise changes. It’s almost imperceptible by ear, but it can be used to estimate the distance to the plane and cross-reference it with publicly available flight history.
Filters and background noise don’t hide this sound. All you need to know is the date and approximate time of the recording. Using this method, the researcher located a street surveillance camera to within 100 meters.
Someone has already built a tool for digging up locations this way. You can test it here.

Thousands of vibecoder apps are giving away user data: researchers found a vulnerability in projects on the Lovable platform.
Of 159,000 websites, 7,400 were found to have serious issues:
– An AI-generated forum was exposing the profiles of 80,000 people, including their dates of birth, along with 200,000 conversations;
– Another service had customers’ phone numbers, addresses, and payment details publicly accessible;
– A different site provided access to 1,000+ records containing users’ passport numbers.
At the same time, Lovable promises that creating apps requires no technical knowledge. And in its terms, it shifts all responsibility for keeping the data safe onto the vibecoders.
Convenient.

In China, they held a cyber-wedding: the groom had to beat the bride in Valorant before she agreed to walk down the aisle with him.
According to Chinese wedding tradition, the groom and his friends have to complete challenges prepared by the bride and her bridesmaids. The couple loves gaming together, so instead of the usual contests, they chose a shooter.
The guy won the most important match of his life.

Democrats have seized control of the U.S. Congress. In both chambers.
Trump’s Republicans have lost their majority in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. The opposition even won in traditionally Republican states—Texas, South Carolina, Kansas, and Iowa.
Democrats will now have an easier time blocking the president’s initiatives and investigating his administration. Trump has already congratulated his rivals on their victory and said he is ready to work with them.
So they’re not our elephants anymore?😭

Are Big Tech CEOs changing their tune amid the U.S. elections? Sam Altman, speaking on behalf of all of OpenAI, came out in favor of humans staying in control of AI. Just days ago, he wrote that sacrifices for the sake of progress are inevitable.
The change in tone came immediately after the Democrats’ sweeping victory in yesterday’s congressional elections. Trump’s party had controlled Congress for the past two years, but the mood has shifted.
Big Tech saw the Trump administration as “a breath of fresh air” — they were given tax breaks, the green light to build data centers, and government contracts. Now they’re calling Democratic strategists and looking for ways to make a deal.
The companies are already facing threats of investigations, strict AI regulation, and restrictions on data centers. Even Texas, where Elon Musk is based, has now come under Democratic control.
CEOs are already being advised to hire lawyers.

Vibe coders have created Tinder for other people’s bills. There, wealthy people can pay for users’ wants.
Users post their expenses, and well-off people can swipe through them and pay for the ones they like. The idea, of course, came from Twitter: a girl suggested giving billionaires the chance to choose other people’s bills like dating profiles. S
The creators are already developing the service and negotiating partnerships with companies. Check it out here.
At last, Twitter users will get their utility bills paid🤣

The US stock market lost nearly $2.5 trillion in the first hour after trading opened: investors are dumping AI stocks after the Democrats’ victory in the congressional elections.
Many of them had promised to slow down or completely halt the construction of AI data centers. At the open, Nvidia shares fell 8%, AMD dropped 16%, and memory chipmakers were down ~10%. Tesla and SpaceX also fell ~10%.
Will we finally get cheaper RAM?
