Instead of looking outside of ourselves and counting potential enemies, fasting summons us to turn our glance inward, and to take the measure of our greatest challenge: the self, the ego, in our own eyes and as others see us."

💎FIQH OF RAMADAAN 💎
🗓Day-4⃣🗓

➡️ RULING ON FASTING THE MONTH OF RAMADAAN:

💠It is the fourth pillar of Islam. (Obligatory/Mandatory)

💠The Ummah is agreed upon that fasting the month of Ramadaan is obligatory, the evidence for which is in the Qur’aan and Sunnah.

“O you who believe! Observing AL-SAUM (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become al-muttaqoon (the pious).”
📎al-Baqarah 2:183

🌷The Prophet Salallaahu Alaihi waSallam said:
“Islam is built on five pillars…” among which he mentioned fasting in Ramadan."
📎(Reported by al-Bukhaari, al-Fath, 1/49).

📍IMPORTANT NOTES📍

🔰If someone denies the obligation of Fasting the Month of Ramadaan , then he is outside of Islam.

🔰If someone does not fast the Month of Ramadaan , knowing its obligation, then he/she is guilty of commiting a Major Sin.

🔰Whoever breaks the fast during Ramadaan without a legitimate excuse has committed a serious major sin.

To be continued

"We must master our egoism, and through this mastery, step outside ourselves and educate ourselves in giving. Fasting requires that we rediscover all that is alive around us, and reconcile ourselves with our environment."

💎FIQH OF RAMADAAN 💎
🗓Day-5️⃣🗓

‏The various Stages of Fasting -1️⃣ (From Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

➡️ THE FIRST STAGE

‏And as for those who can fast with difficulty, (e.g. an old man, etc.), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a Miskin (poor person) (for every day). But whoever does good of his own accord, it is better for him. And that you fast, it is better for you if only you know.
‏ (Al-Baqarah 2:184)

🎓Ibn Kathir رحمه الله says,

‏Al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded that A'ishah said, ''(The day of) Ashura' was a day of fasting.

‏When the obligation to fast Ramadan was revealed, those who wished fasted, and those who wished did not.'' Al-Bukhari recorded the same from Ibn Umar and Ibn Masud.

‏Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala said:

‌‎﴿وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ﴾
‏(...those who can fast with difficulty, (e.g., an old man), they have (a choice either to fast or) to feed a Miskin (poor person) (for every day).)

‏As-Suddi reported that Murrah narrated that Abdullah said about this Aayah that ''It means `those who find it difficult (to fast).' Formerly, those who wished, fasted and those who wished, did not but fed a poor person instead.''

‏Allaah Subhaanahu wa Ta'ala then said:

‌‎﴿فَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا﴾
‏(But whoever does good of his own accord) meaning whoever fed an extra poor person,

‏(it is better for him. And that you fast is better for you).

📌Commenting on the above Shaykh Ibn Uthaimeen رحمه الله says:

"Ramadaan become obligatory in the second year of Hijrah. So the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallaam) fasted for 9 years and fasting went through two stages. The first stage was that a person was given a choice between fasting and feeding a poor person, with fasting being more preferred." ‏[Sittings in the Ramadaan (Shaykh Muhammad Bin Saleh Al-Uthaimeen رحمه الله)]

‏To be continued
