警视庁捜査一课「特命捜査対策室」第6係に所属する热血刑事・矢代朋 (波瑠)はある日、文字フェチの先辈刑事・鸣海理沙 (铃木京香)と主任・草加慎司 (远藤宪一)とともに、京都府警を访ねる。実は3日前、京都市内で喫茶店経営者・武村勇介（河相我闻）の遗体とともに、「男」という汉字が3つ连なる赤インク文字が発见されるという、异様な事件が発生。奇しくも、5年前には东京都内でもIT业界の人间がふたり相次いで杀され、それぞれの现场に「虫」と「品」いう赤インク文字が残されていたのだが、いずれも未解决のまま时が流れていたのだ。
事件现场に残された、同じ汉字が3つ连なる“品字様”の文字――朋と理沙はこの奇妙な共通点に注目。5年の时を経て同一人物が犯行を再开した可能性を主张する。だが、上司である「特命捜査対策室」室长・古贺清成 (沢村一树)からは「こじつけだ」と一蹴され、京都府警の捜査一课刑事・国木田哲夫（谷原章介）からも文书捜査に対する懐疑心を丸出しにされてしまうことに…。それでもめげずに、3つの事件をつなぐ“真実の欠片”を探し出そうと奋起する朋と理沙。だが、被害者3人の接点すら见つからず、捜査はなかなか思うようには进まない。
その矢先、武村の过去を洗い直した国木田は、彼が4～5年前まで东京の最大手ソフトウェア企业「Wテクノス」で働いていたという情报を入手。しかも、武村が杀される2日前に、「Wテクノス」の社长・涌井彻（中村俊介）と会っていたことも判明したのだ！ さらなる手がかりを求め、朋は国木田とともに「Wテクノス」へ。ところが、応対した社长秘书・米须雅人（武田真治）から门前払いを食らってしまい…。
そんな中、都内で新たな杀人事件が発生！ 现场に残された赤インクの品字様を见た理沙は、にわかに目の色を変える――。

Copenhagen, Feburary 14, 2015. On an icy cold winter's day, a terrorist attack is carried out, targeting first an event on freedom of speech at the cultural centre “Krudttønden” and then the synagogue of Copenhagen during a bat mitzvah.
