In the lawsuit filed Friday in US District Court in San Francisco, the group of plaintiffs allege that Metaโs privacy claims are false. They allege that Meta and WhatsApp โstore, analyse and can access virtually all of WhatsApp usersโ purportedly โprivateโ communicationsโ โ and accuse the companies and their leaders of defrauding WhatsAppโs billions of users worldwide.

idk if you ever noticed, but if you forward large media on whatsapp from a private chat to another, the media is sent instantly.
for this to be possible, the server must already have a decrypted version of the media on the server side, otherwise the client would have to re-send the media to encrypt it with those specific keys.
i have no idea if this is an argument used in this court case, and i doubt it'll go anywhere, but there is already kinda solid evidence this is true

oh yeah a renowned "scientific" paper which says that ethical capitalism performs better within the market than a nebulously defined set of evil companies (which actually did not perform bad at all), thus implicitly justifying deregulated markets in spite of state regulation (almost like if adam smith got out of his tomb to write this paper 300 years later), is actually garbage, but the current organization of academia won't recognize or correct anything at all, almost like there's an incentive to keep this narrative alive
it's almost like if someone called karl was right
