πŸš΄πŸ› DAY 27 Theologos - Loukisia
96km +2085m

I'm pretty sure my watch is drunk and I didn't do more than 700m but I can't be sure. Still, doesn't matter. What matters is that I feel smooth and this last two days were pushing me forward. Even if I had to fight the wind and some hills, I was feeling that sensation to do 150km or more, maybe because of the plains after weeks of Balkan mountains.
Got a couple of free beers and souvlaki with my alcoholic retired homies and then same old church camping with amazing sunset on the sea.

πŸš΄πŸ› DAY 28 Loukisia - Agii Apostoli
56km +814m

It was an easy day, almost all along the sea, following the Eurovelo n.11, and I could've gone further, but I wanted to spend the last night on the sea, before reaching the city, and this was the last place possible.
So tomorrow we finish.

πŸš΄πŸ›πŸ† DAY 29 Agii Apostoli - Athens
52km +1168m

From one adventure to another. From a two-wheeler home to a coliving with strangers. From the mountains to the city. From the solitude to the chaos of a million people around.
Thank you for having followed this little journey.

πŸ’ I'm on the ferry to Kythira island, to visit my cousin that recently moved there, and I just had a three hours conversation with a stranger.

We started chatting by mistake, he's italian so we continued talking. I think he was looking for someone to pass time with. After 10 minutes of conversation, this 65 year old man was not able to hold his tears. Apparently I reminded him of his recently departed son.

Sometimes it feels very good to see yourself "oversharing" right away, pitching your life and views without knowing what the other person thinks, especially now that I work for such a controversial field as migrations, just following the flow. I guess the point is to go above the facts and try to focus on the values and meanings of things.
This person lived incredible adventures and travelled around the world, we found ourselves having done same things (like the Camino Primitivo) and experienced similar feelings. And still, is beautiful to see how much space there is for exchange and confrontation.
Once again human connection can bring so much, and being truly open to it within you changes how people will approach you.

🎬 I just finished the last episode of Stranger Things and I have a few thoughts. I promise is not about plot or actors nonsense.

I almost don't watch series anymore, I try to value my time better and to eliminate media based on keeping you hooked for the longest possible, sacrifying quality and creativity.
Still, I decided to catch up and conclude with the last season of Stranger Things, a series that I followed year by year since its release 10 (freaking) year ago. I found exactly what I was expecting, but that's not the point.

The point is to recognize how much power is held in a story that accompanies you for such long time. In those perfectly crafted tearbreaking final minutes of the last episode it's impossible not to get emotional.
For me it was not really about the characters and the idea of that story finishing forever rather than the amount of memories and sensations coming back to me melted in that nostalgia mixtape that Hollywood productions are great at make and throwing at you at the very end to cover the load of mediocrity of the previous 8 hours.

So yeah, we are not missing those characters and stories, we are being nostalgic about ourselves, our memories and the feelings that passed and maybe (probably not) won't come again.

🚴 🫢🏼 Afke and Grant, the two bikepackers that I met along the trip and that I shared with some amazing days did not stop cycling.
Afke literally didn't stop at all and a couple of days ago she arrived to Nordkapp, 3 months of tour from Lubiana to Tirana, Sofia, Budapest, Berlin, Copenhagen Olso and Lofoten Islands.
Grant finished his tour in Skopje but then soon moved to Tokyo to start a new life, new job, new home. But still kept his new passion for bike travels and every weekend now he explores Japan's beauties with his Kona.
So proud of both of them. So grateful to have shared moments with them and to be still in touch.
Life is truly a web of paths.
