A condensed or a narrow font is a typeface that features characters with narrow widths but it also refers to fonts with taller character designs as well β
Condensed fonts also have much narrower space between characters than a regular font.
While many designers recommend not to use condensed fonts in body text, these fonts are a popular choice in designing large headlines and titles, especially in posters, website headers, banners, and even in book covers and business cards π
It takes a lot of testing and experimenting to find the perfect font for a design, but our tips for choosing and working with condensed and narrow fonts will help get you off to a great start! π
