Voluntary blood donation
Every Saturday in January a blood donation will take place in the center of Heraklion, namely in the atrium of the Loggia, from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm.
The initiators are the Pancreatic Association of Voluntary Blood Donors and Organ Donors “Hematocrit”.
The need for blood remains constant and every donation is truly valuable. Every voluntary blood donor has the opportunity to use the units of blood donated by him or her in the event of a future need for blood, his or her or his or her family's blood.
All healthy men/women between the ages of 18 and 65 are eligible to donate blood. They should be rested, have a light breakfast and, if they do not have a blood donor card, carry their AMCA ID card with them.

Winter sales
The 2025 Winter Sales are expected to start from Monday, January 13 and last until Friday, February 28.
According to the decision of the Heraklion Chamber of Commerce, all stores will be open on Sunday, January 19, from 11:00 to 18:00. The discounts that await customers in commercial stores will reach an average of 35%.
Next Sunday, January 26, the opening of commercial stores is left to the discretion of their owners.

- Driving without a driver's license - 204
- Driving without a protective helmet - 182
- Failure to use a seat belt -160
- Drunk driving - 88
- Abnormal maneuvers - 60
- Using a mobile phone - 54
- Improper overtaking - 44
- Driving in oncoming traffic - 36
- Driving through a red light - 31
- Other violations - 1,152

The list of fines for lack of documents has been updated:
- Driving a car/motorcycle without a driver's license - 700/500 euros
- Lack of registration certificate or temporary certificate - 350 euros
- Lack of a technical inspection receipt - 400 euros (for a repeated violation - 800 euros and removal of the registration sign)
- No paper about car/motorcycle insurance - 500/250 euros
- No exhaust gas card - 200 euros
