Over the years in crypto I’ve learned a simple truth: a token only really lives when it moves in lockstep with the product. When a share of profits funds buybacks, the price starts to track the P&L. When burns are tied to real, in-product events, scarcity comes from usage — not from pitch decks.

This pairing doesn’t create miracles; it enforces discipline. The noise fades: projects where the token is just décor fall away, and those where it’s a working growth tool remain. In this model the user sees value here and now: there are real reasons to buy and spend the token because it unlocks access, saves time, removes limits, speeds up service.

What matters is clear, stable rules. Where does the buyback money come from? How often is it executed? Which product actions trigger burns, and in what size? When that’s transparent, “trust” stops being marketing and becomes operating practice.

The failure modes are obvious. Buybacks without revenue are cosmetics. Burns without usage are hot air. Changing the rules on a whim erodes reputation fast. I always ask the same things: where is the P&L wired into the token, where does usage convert into scarcity, and where can I verify it?

I believe that if major players set this as a standard, the market will shed excess weight on its own. What remains in the price is real contribution to the ecosystem — visible both in the product and in the order book.

Yesterday people fought over marble; today they argue over the floor and the order book’s mood. As long as they believe in the one pressing mint, it flies; once that belief fades, the black background stops being “rare,” and rarity stops being rare.
