Looks like Vitalik Buterin had an account w QuadrigaCX, according to Gerry Cotten.

Again, just another interesting tidbit here.
Okay I smell something cooking. Slightly bullish I suppose.

First thing you would notice is I haven't picked my favorite indicators. The SMA combo. Well I did use them prior to making this chart.

The ichimoku cloud has been one of those accurate indicators I highly rely on. Bulls seem to be sleeping some success here. A huge red cloud hovering above yet I would say the bottom of the cloud will be our first test zone. Once cleared we will find the green resistances which would give us tremendous gains.
Watch out for the cross. And grab this cheap once we get the confirmation

Litecoin is up 183% in 2019: What is pushing the price up?

Litecoin (LTC) has seen a dramatic increase in price over the course of 2019, surging a staggering 183% from $30 up to the current price of $57. What is driving the price of the fourth largest cryptocurrency in 2019?

The LTC halving is set for August 2019

Litecoin operates much like Bitcoin, and will also be performing a reward halving. Unlike Bitcoin, the halving is set for August 2019 while Bitcoins next halving is set for May 2020. The LTC halving will see the mining reward per block cut down from 25 LTC down to 12.5 LTC. In the past, reward halvings have caused the token price to increase before the halving occurs. In the months leading up to the 2015 LTC halving, the coin rose over 700%. LTC is currently in the same trend since January.

I am currently challenging the previous upper-trend line from the current loquat, and the short entry will be processed as a stop-loss when breaking the trend line.

Nevertheless, we are still maintaining a short-sighted view because we believe that the third rally of the short selling pattern that we posted earlier is being made, and that the 5th wave of the rising wedge pattern is in progress. When the 5th wave of rising wedge goes up, it can rise up to around $ 3980, but if you break above $ 3944, which is an important point, you can see that there is enough additional upside, so you can not catch the short entry.

The brisk rises to 3934 $, 3938 $, 3820 $ / 3760 $, and so on, and is waiting for the last water rush at $ 3940

Since the risk has risen, the previously set up S.L will be modified to $ 3950 and some of the targets will be modified.

TP1 3860 $
TP2 3790 $
TP3 3660 $
TP4 3590 $ 3565 $

Downward Hold Confirmation Additional

Bitfinex Chart
The current resistors are located at the 1D / 1W resistance zone and are likely to be adjusted. However, since it has exceeded the main resistance section, it is possible to set up a long entry so that it looks more likely to rise further. <RISK-> $ 3939 to $ 3944 $ 3928 to $ 3935 S.L 3920 $ (-0.36%)
<RISK- Medium> $ 3886 to $ 3903 S.L 3880 $ (-0.35%) The first entry is the main support section, but the risk is high,
XBTUSD current low of $ 3926 Entry completed The reasons why the adjustment is likely to occur yesterday and why the section is set as an entry are shown on the chart

TP1 $ 3980

TP2 $ 4030

TP3 $ 4090

Hold $ 4096 Break

Additional TP $ 4215 / $ 4265 / $ 4325
What a moment. Total market capitalisation breaks the diagonal resistance, I hope we hold this.
Some time ago I expressed my concerns about Tether and their stable coin USDT. They’ve always promised that every single USDT issued will be backed by one USD. As long as that’s the case, there is nothing to worry about. They promised regular audits by a reliable third party, but never delivered. Tether’s website was changes multiple times throughout 2018, but a recent change now says that Tether no longer backs their issued USDT by USD. Instead it gets backed by “our reserves, which include traditional currency and cash equivalents and, from time to time, may include other assets and receivables from loans made by Tether to third parties, which may include affiliated entities (collectively, ‘reserves’)”.

The part: “loans made by Tether to third parties” worries me. This is essentially what a bank does. But Tether doesn’t have a banking license.

To demonstrate my concern:
- Someone gives Tether 10 million USD
- That someone receives 10 million USDT so he can trade on all exchanges
- Someone else borrows 5 million USD from Tether (the “loan” part from their updated website)
- That person now buys bitcoin with it for example (still no problem up until this point)
- Bitcoin loses 50% of its value in just 2 weeks time (this becomes a problem)

How is Tether supposed to get its money back? They’re basically running a fractional reserve just like a bank, only without the proper licensing.

I’m expecting some government (probably the US because the DoJ is already looking into it) will eventually try to shutdown this shady operation. That won’t end pretty, because at time of writing 83% of all bitcoin trading volume is due to Tether, according to CryptoCompare. The picture below comes from Coinlib.
