The Great Awokening as a Global Phenomenon:
"Looking at prejudice-specific topics, we obtain additional evidence that the abrupt rise in the usage of prejudice specific terminology did not begin in the the United States." (Source)
For years I've tried to emphasize that "wokeness" (Leftism/Globalism) has deep roots and did not originate in one single country, namely America.
Two examples I've highlighted in the past are the Ethical Culture Movement and World League for Sexual Reform, founded in 1877 and 1928, respectively.
Both were internationalist movements that spread radical Left-Wing ideas on race, sex, and class among the Western intelligentsia. They also interacted with non-Western populations.
The Great Awokening was definitely facilitated by technology โ social media, the internet, etc. โ but the foundations of "woke" ideology were laid last century or even earlier.

While mainstream conservatives may shy away from explicitly talking about race, many of the most divisive issues are implicitly racial. The Second Amendment is implicitly White in a way that effectively separates conservatives Whites from the majority of non-Whites and leftists.

Yes, there are non-Whites and leftists that are also pro-2A, but they are the minority of 2A rights supporters, and I donโt think their views on gun rights carry over to their posterity they way we see with White conservatives that have a generational history of being culturally American.
