"For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. What man is he that feareth the LORD? Him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.”

 O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;

many are saying of my soul, there is no salvation for him in God. Selah

But you, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

I cried aloud to the LORD, and He answered me from His holy hill. Selah

I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.

I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.

Arise, O LORD! Save me, O my God! For you strike all my enemies on the cheek; you break the teeth of the wicked.

Salvation belongs to the LORD; your blessing be on your people! Selah

Proverbs 16:18 states,
“Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.”

The order in the verse is careful.

Destruction is not the beginning.
It is the result.

Before anything collapses outwardly,
something has already shifted inwardly.

Pride.

In Proverbs, pride is not simply
confidence or a strong sense of self.
It is a posture that places the self
above correction, above limits,
and ultimately above God.

That is why it is dangerous.

Because pride does not first
appear in visible actions.
It begins in how a person sees.

It reshapes judgment.

A proud person does not
easily recognize error.
He becomes less teachable,
less aware, and less willing
to be corrected.

What is wrong begins to look reasonable.
What is risky begins to feel safe.

So the fall does not come suddenly.

It has been forming quietly.

By the time consequences appear,
the distortion has already taken root.

This explains why Proverbs
speaks so strongly about pride.

It is not only a moral issue.
It is a perceptual one.

It blinds before it breaks.

And in Scripture, the answer
is not self-correction alone,
but humility before God.

Because only when the heart is lowered
can sight begin to clear.

Therefore he who is prudent will keep silent in such a time, for it is an evil time. Seek good, and not evil, that you may live; and so the Lord, the God of hosts, will be with you, as you have said.

All that we are and all that we have is from His gracious hand.
Every good gift, every blessing, every breath—none of it is ours by right, but all by His mercy.

Apart from Him, we are empty.
In Him, we lack nothing.☕️

What if I told you one of the greatest athletes of all time... never ran a single step on his own?
This is the story of Rick Hoyt and his father Dick Hoyt — a duo that redefined what determination, love, and perseverance truly mean.
Rick was born with cerebral palsy and was told he would never walk or speak. Many believed his life would be limited... but they were wrong. Through a computer, Rick was finally able to communicate—and one day, he told his dad something that changed everything:
“When I’m running, it feels like I’m not disabled.”
That one sentence sparked a movement. Dick Hoyt, who wasn’t a runner at the time, began pushing his son in a wheelchair—first in a single race... then another... and another. What started as one moment of love turned into a legacy that would inspire millions. Together, as Team Hoyt, they completed: • Over 1,100 endurance events • 70+ marathons • Multiple Ironman...❣️🏆
