Gift card theft

My SO was given a prepaid gift card (Visa based, not a retailer specific card) from a big box retailer from their boss and the balance was drained the next day. The card was replaced (from the same retailer, Mastercard) and again within a day or so the balance was drained. The cards had the magnetic strip but no chip. No tampering was evident on the packaging. How could this have been accomplished assuming the boss is an unlikely culprit?

Is it possible to Bypass Linewize

Our school uses some variation of Linewize and it is a complete breach of privacy which gives admins too much control and blocks websites at school and at home. Is there any other solution other than VPN’s and Proxy’s?
