Cybersecurity Jobs for those starting as a developer or SysNetAdmin

I really enjoy programming but I also really enjoy learning about systems and network management. I am 23 years old and have no college degree. I am in an evening computer science high school for adults who dropped out of school in their teens.

If I started as a developer I would build a good backend developer portfolio to show my skills to employers. On the other hand, if I started as a Sys/NetAdmin I would put some money aside for certifications (CCNA to start) and to set up a homelab, documenting it all and showing it to employers.

Since I like both so much I would like to decide based on what jobs in Cybersecurity I could do by pursuing one path rather than another.

What Cybersecurity-related jobs can a developer pursue ?

What Cybersecurity-related jobs can a Sys/NetAdmin pursue ?

What things are you able to do to a device in a network?

Suppose you have gained access to a network. What things can they do to you or what things can you do to them?

I think you can see what they are searching. but isn't that already protected by HTTPS? Like if they have https on, the only thing you will see is what website they have visited. Not the credentials they have inputted.

And I have read that it is possible to have a dns attack where you can change the target website with your(phishing) website.

But Idk what are the things can you do?

Thanks in advance
