hacking: security in practice
How safe is a password-protected .dmg?

I just read another thread about brute forcing an old letter from his dad. It was finally cracked and the password was revealed less than 8 hours after getting the hash. I wonder how far can we trust Apple anymore? I wonder if it’s a lot safer to store your documents on iCloud instead because not even the government can request for a backdoor on terrorist’s iPhone from Apple. What do you think?
