Cracking a code with known characters

Say that I have a 6-digit code where I know the first and last characters. (Ex. A****@)

How would I go about cracking this code in a website input field?

ACER c871 chromebook developer mode disabled.

I just moved into a new apartment where the previous tenants left behind a boat load of crap with a few items of value. My landlord had me clean the place out and said I could keep whatever I wanted.

One of these items of value is an ACER c871 (manufacture date 06/16/2020) and unfortunately it is enterprise enrolled.

As far as I understand, and please keep in mind that although im not a tech wizard, i have a very basic understanding of hardware and software principles, the write protection isn't a switch or a screw but is somehow inline with the battery (CR50 I think it's called). I've read online that removing the battery and holding down the power key should bypass some administrative lock but I can't seem to get it to work. After you unplug the battery from the motherboard and proceed to hold the power key, am I supposed to have the AC charger plugged in while I hold down the key or no?

Honestly if someone could provide me with a more detailed process on how to enable developer mode and bypass the enterprise enrollment than any of the ones I found online that would be rad. Thanks yall.
