Are there any tutorials of breaking into a system using two machine on internal networks?

Is this a thing? basically a tutorial of someone trying to break into a linux machine that runs on their virtual box using another linux machine that also runs on their virtual box. Preferably on internal network and using the same network.

dual boot and OS preferences

I've been using windows 11 pro along with kali linux dual boot for pen-testing and other related things. I use windows for general purpose, file management and vscode, and obviously I use kali for pen-testing/networking. My question is should I switch over to Mac OS in replacement of windows? Mac has such a cleaner feel but I hear Mac doesn't have what windows machines have to offer. Is switching over to Mac a good choice? Why or why not.
