hacking: security in practice
Info on manufacturing recording device capable of evading detection.

I need to build a recording device capable of not being detected.

How do I shield the microphones, and still have them record audio?

Copper mesh on the mics shows on the emp detector. With no mics and everything within the housing, I get no alarms.

Ideas on the microphone, and any helpful info is what I need.

There was a device that evaded detection at the Supreme Court of the USA awhile back, anyone have pics of it?

network requirements

Hello mates !

5 months ago I had the surprise to found something on a public network, it was my first -involuntary- approach to cyber security in general

it was a very pleasant experience and since started my learning path

i'm going deeper and deeper but this days i am questioning about my own protection

as I am moving in a new place very soon which means new network, I would like to debate with you mates, the security of our own network at home

for now I just have a simple network plan from my ISP and if trying something outside of educational platform (i.e tryhackme, hackthebox, vulnhub), activate basic VPN

how do you protect your own network? is the best protection is using wi-fi connection from my neighbour the coffee shop outside of the city?

I have two points in minds, please correct me if needed :

- every devices able to access network is identifiable with a mac address but from my knowledge this is identifiable only on your machine or on the ISP GUI management so using other connection than mine could represent a breach to identify me

- I used to have my own server where I was able to store data + host personal web tools, ideally I think there is kind of a way to have a setup that prevents to be identify? I understand there will always be a way to crack/hack something if you have the ressources but I am totally ready to put finance & time resources to maximise my protection

Here the context, I made my research on my side but I want to discuss that with people, have your opinion, understand your network setup etc... If you want to understand my purpose, that is all educational for now as I still have a lot to practice, pen testing is very pleasant but I'm more into defensive

tldr: share thoughts about wi-fi network at home for pen testing
