hacking: security in practice
probably wrong sub but
Hi,
Chrome is the browser and Google is the search engine right?
Between the two of them who actually collects data?
And does using Firefox as a browser and Google as a search engine does make sense or it might as well use Chrome and Google?
Thanks,

Do you think hacker culture is dead?
I was reading the book Hacker culture by Douglas Thomas, and the way he describes the hacking/tech culture in the 90s sound so exciting and vibrant. Nowadays though even the term "hacker" has been infected and used mostly to describe cybercriminals rather than actual tech enthusiasts and hobbyists always looking forward to expand their expertise in the field.
So I was wondering, is the hacking culture, or I suppose "underground hacking", dead? Or am I just out of the loop? What do you think?

Ethical IP grabber
There’s a person that’s stalking my friend online and i was thinking of giving my friend a IP address link to get the stalker to click on it. This has been going on for around 3 years now. How do I do it from kali Linux in a way that it can’t be tracked back to me or my friend. I’m only doing this to scare the person not threaten them and I’m gonna add this is for educational purposes to not get banned or something

Cariddi (tool) - Recon + Info disclosure
Hi,
On my Github profile you can find cariddi (https://github.com/edoardottt/cariddi), a Golang cli tool.
It takes a list of domains as input, crawls all possible urls and scans for endpoints, secrets, api keys, file extensions, tokens and more.
This tool will be useful for Penetration tests, bug bounty and other hacking stuff for web based applications.
If you have suggestions or problems just open an issue :)

How does someone intercept an SMS MFA code?
A little while ago my FB was hacked and deactivated. I had received two MFA codes in the middle of the night that I didn’t respond to because I was asleep.
Someone got into my account changed my password and removed all of my contact info. After going round and round I was finally able to recover my account.
I now know that SMS Texts are not secure. My question is how would someone intercept the message without access to the phone?
