Deep Web
My First Impressions and Experience About The Deep Web (Maybe It Helps New People Like Me)
Today, for the first time I entered the deep web. It was a really weird experience for me.
I wanted to write down what I did so maybe It helps for the new people who don’t know where to check.
Since also I am new too, please correct me If my impression is wrong.
1.
First things first, I am a daily virtual box user. So instead of Tails, I used Linux virtual box and a tor browser to enter. I didn’t use vpn because tor was doing that job. I only disabled javascript so if i enter a funny website, they wouldn’t be able to learn my screen size or such details etc.
2.
Speaking of funny websites, I saw a lot of scam websites which target new users. Especially the ones who believes “scary stories and hidden documentaries”
3.
My first step was researching about the most common onion websites to do some research deeper. I read lots of communities such as the reddit of the deep web named Dread.
4.
I saw that people mostly use deep web as marketing and hacking. Not hiring hackers. Those are scams. Hacking forums. Mostly marketing was about the drugs. And there were many people who were sharing about their experience with drugs.
5.
I especially checked the “new user” threads there. Because it helped me understand better what deep web is. People there help a lot the new users.
6.
After that, to be more free I researched about the search engines for the onion links. I found lots of results. The best ones were Ahmia and Torch for me.
7.
I found lots of websites with that way. To be honest It was like a rabbit hole. But also there were weird shit such as Zoophile. I couldn’t read the content much since I am sensitive about the animals.
8.
To confirm the rumors for the deep web better, I mostly searched for the common dark web stories on those engines. I searched every key word of those stories. But I didn’t get any results. Don’t believe “dark web stories” on the internet. (Correct me if i am too clumsy to find)
What I understood is, deep web is just the uncensored version of the clearnet. People are more free to surf. There is not hired killers or hackers (maybe you be friends with one since there are lots of forums about hacking).
If you want gore or weird stories, you can also find it a lot in clearnet. There are even subreddits for this on reddit.
Please correct me If i am wrong. I experienced those only in 3-4 hours.

hacking: security in practice
I’m having trouble resetting a Dell Latitude with previous owners data still on it.
I received a couple of Dell Latitude laptops that both appear to have belonged to some company. I learned the trick to factory reset a windows based computer by holding shift while clicking reset, and that worked for one of them. However the other latitude refuses to reset. Clicking either the just remove my files option or the remove everything option leads to nothing going away which makes no sense. The remove everything option actually gets interrupted somewhere down the line and tells me, ran into an issue nothing was reset. Then it goes back to the troubleshooting menu.
Is there any kind of way I can hack into the computer from the Lock Screen? Trying to log into the thing and tell it that I forgot my password tells me I need a password reset disk, and I’m not certain where to get that or if I can since it might need to be made in advance.
I hope this isn’t breaking a rule, but this is not me trying to hire hackers to do something for me, I’m asking help to do something myself, and I’m not trying to get into “my girlfriend’s Instagram account “ or something, I’m trying to get into PCs I purchased but can’t make use of. Since I was able to get into one, I don’t want to give up on the other.
